G14 and NQ chugging along, they're at 34" and 24" height now. The g14 is stretching more than an inch a day lately. I looked at tying over the top but it didn't seem convenient. Almost went ahead with a 90 degree bend and snap but just couldn't bring myself to do it, never tried that--seems would have been better to do that a week ago, don't want to slow it down now I guess.

I'll have to either tie it over or take it outside soon. Need that good light penetration from the sun anyway now she's so stretchy. NQ probably keep inside a while longer though as she seemed finicky in the heat of the day and I'm trying to keep her cooler.

She's looking grumpy again, here's some pics, I don't know what's up with her. I'd almost say light burn and or calcium issue, bit I'm not really sold on either idea. Last top drench I thought was mild. Maybe just lightly rinse with bone meal and bennies ? I'm running her res somewhat drier so she doesn't sog out. She's using a lot less water than the other,

What do you guys think?

Thanks for looking in, guys :peace:

Yeah, easier said than done, when it's your own plant. Haha. It'd really help those other branches out, although I've been liking the natural, untrained look lately. I don't know if I want to snap that top, everything will get good light under the sun anyways.

Thanks man, lol, yeah, it's not too bad. I think maybe the feed has been overdone, combined with low ph, that could affect the calcium. The soil mix is stronger in the pot this time, maybe I've just been trying to do too much with the bottles . I'm going to get around to rinsing her out tonight with a weaker bone meal solution, try and keep it simple in there. I don't measure anything, just use capfuls or fractions of that, they're mild enough to not cause any problems with that, generally so far, but I don't measure ph of the solutions either, and the bone meal liquid can really lower it I'm told. I think I just need to rinse a bit and mellow her out...

Calmag deficiency is my guess...

Just go where you'd like for her to fold and gently squeeze the branch between your thumb and index finger. You should feel the branch getting soft and mushy inside. Be careful so the skin on the branch doesn't break open, if it does, wrap it with duct tape.

Do this up and down the branch, within a half inch to an inch radius. Once the branch is all soft and easily bent, fold it so the top of the branch leans down in the direction you want it.

Start with small side branches so you get the hang of it before going for the main collas. Once you get the hang of it, do it to as many branches as you can and feel like. Even if you're not bending them, do the squeezing on all branches. This helps make stronger branches and you'll notice that the buds on branches you did this to get bigger and more clustered! ;)
