Hi all. I am old soil grower from way back and decided last year to start growing meds for my ailments. After some research and with a good understanding of plant requirements I decided that I wanted to give hydroponics a try. My first grow was a learning experience. Went through a variety of problems and over came all to get a nice harvest. There's where it all changed. The 2nd grow has been dialed in all the way. And there lies my problem. The girls are growing way to big. This is at least 3 times the growth I would have seen in soil. My main question is, is this typical of hydroponics. I have seen some impressive grows in hydro here and other sites but wasn't expecting this kinda growth. I now have a side branch that's 72inches long and I'm growing in a 60inch tent. Lol Bent them over and the side branches on them just grew in to the lights. Anyway would like to hear if this is typical growth out of hydro because I'll definitely have to scrog from now on. Lol Tks all and Happy Growing

Yea typical for Hydro, Well i say typical for DWC. I grow 3 plants in a 12 foot by 4 foot scrog net, and just 3 of them fill the net. Normally do a 6 week veg, by the time they threw transition process into flower they have filled the net. I once did a 9 week veg and it was Insane.

They were at the lights!!!! i had to super crop the hell outta them all the way to about a foot and half off the top of them buckets. To get them to fit under the SCROG

Photos? Yes.

I'm still working on photo's. It's ridiculous though. I've weaved so many limbs now that under the light the light only penetrates about 6 inches, and the branches that are there are blocking any light from reaching the sides. I could easily topped this plant and it would have still been in lights. By the way it's the trans siberian by auto seeds. My friends are joking that I shouldn't do such a good job. Lol Also have sugar black rose by delicious seeds. It at least stayed a little shorter. Now I know to adjust my growing style to match this exceptional potential. I won't have the yield that I could have had but I have had a ball just watching these lady's shoot for the stars. Wish my tomatoes grew this well. Now the tough decision on what to grow next. Oh the troubles a person has to deal with. Lol. Tks all and Happy Growing. Ps I thought there was something wrong with that font size on that first post. Lol dang New fangled contractions.

Nice what size are those res`s? I've got two in my 10 gallon but I won't do that again. One per would have been better but live and learn. Does the roots fill that whole space or is there some room for water movement? Been worried about mine but I'm pumping huge amounts of o2 in too try to get more movement. Roots have displaced a lot of space. Happy Growing

I have a five gallon dwc. with at 45L air pump, my roots are insane. My girl is almost 30 inches, and she is an Auto. I could fill my Grow space with one Photo.
