I just signed up and saw a thread directing me here to say hello, so here I am. Hello to you all from the UK! Only had a quick look around so far, but I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in!

Me and a buddy just started a round of autos from Pyramid Seeds and it'd be great to share the progress with you and get some help along the way. I'm pretty new to growing medicine, so I'll take all the help I can get! . So that's pretty much why I joined up; to share and learn.

We're growing in a tent 120 x120 x 200 cm and are using a 600w dual spectrum HPS light source. The plan is to use the organic bio range from Canna and grow 6 plants.

2 Blue Pyramid, 2 Anubis, 1 White Widow, 1 Anaesthesia

All are in 10 litre Air pots and in a soil/coco/perlite mix. I have a quick question, if that's cool? .

Do we have enough light for a good harvest from that many plants? (In theory). It's primarily for medicine and recreational use. The ballast has a supercharge mode, which I believe boosts things up to 660w. I read somewhere that 100w a plant is a good figure to bear in mind, is this accurate information?

Anyway. I'm looking forward to growing along side you. Here's a couple of day 1 pics as a taster.

Welcome Octo, so glad that you joined the family. I can't really answer your question about HPS lighting since all I have ever used are LED for my grows. There is a lot of great info on this forum with a lot of friendly experienced growers from every style of growing imaginable. Browse around and check out some journals and feel free to ask questions. We are all here to help and learn, so don't be shy.....

What's up and welcome to AFN.... and hey 6 plants under a dual spec 600 will work... a little training and keep them all rotated in different positions will go along way as well... I urge you to not get as ambitious at first.. trust me I know the feeling of wanting to be all in and maximize space but 1 well grown plant will out yield 3 not so hot if ya feel me. Get the basics down then expand what you do from there. That being said there's enough help here to get ya bye, good luck my new friend

Thanks for the information. A-Train. Awesome stuff and food for thought. I'm very green around the gills, but my mate has a couple of grows under his belt. I think he's raised 8 plants to harvest in total and they turned out surprisingly well for a first couple of tries. Not a bad start, I only wish it were my fingers that were that green haha.

So far only 5/6 have germinated, so if we only end up with 5, we'll stick with them for an easier time. You're right, it's very easy to get carried away. Cheers again

P.S. Is it cool to just go ahead and set up a journal right away, or do I need a certain number of posts etc? Also is it the academy I should post in, or a more general forum? Sorry for all the questions lol. Stll getting to know my way around. Thanks everyone.

All good that's what we are here for... you can start it in the new grower academy if ya want... it being the first grow more folks from staff and others troll through there often checking in on the new guys and are quick to help... but no there are no requirements for journal except TO DO ONE lol...
