Grow Mediums A-Train needs info on the coco for future run... help a brother out.

I am thinking of using 70/30 coco/perlite straight to the bottom of the pots.
Can you think of a reason why this would be a bad idea?
According to that piece above it would lead to superior water transfer than if a hydro ton base were used.
Thoughts?
