Good day friends,

Come to the realisation that in order to settle my perfectionist issues I need to purchase an A/C unit to control heat and humidity. I found this at a reasonable budget for me

. Any suggestions from you guys. I am able to keep the heat under 30°c but the humidity is shockingly low and I read that you really want to keep the heat under 24°c during flower.

That is an evaporative cooler, not an air conditioner. I use one during the summer. I have owned quite a few over the years. It helps with humidity, but only temporarily, unless you run it continuously. It only holds about a gallon and a half of water ( if my conversion is correct), so be prepared to fill it several times throughout the day. You might consider a unit that holds more water, or one that connects to water. I bought a smaller model than what I was running and that holds almost 8 gallons. My temps average about 80 degrees.

I’m looking to make a purchase before summer. I grow in a tent in the basement and though the heat won’t go much above 80F, the humidity is about 80 as well LOL. I tend to like to keep it around 75F — 50%-ish because I don’t want my DWC water temps higher than about 72, and I’d rather cool the air then the water. But because of the high humidity, I’m looking at a true AC unit instead of the swamp cooler which is going to set me back $350US on the low end. Good grief!

I use a 5000 btu window air conditioner. two tents in one room, not a big room, and when outside temps hit around 70 deg. F tents too hot. even though its comfortable for me, I have to run air. and it's expensive. in conjunction with lights.:nono: humidity is another issue, if the plants are in a tent, and they are large, you will feed them every other day they generate their own RH.
small plants need a humidifier. I have been growing right thru winter, and my RH has only been 20% and had to humidify baby's until they reached good size, and my feeding every other day kept RH @ 40% , not perfect but better than twenty.:2cents:

What about a humidifier?? We have a lot of dry weather and extreme heat, so I suspect my issue may be more severe than the OP; but I opted to build my own humidifier. It uses ultrasonic mist makers and has a BIG reservoir so I can leave for several days at least. I’m not finished because I’ve been so busy but it will be done this week. It’s not hard and the parts should be easy to order anywhere. I ordered from www.TheHouseOfHydro.com because they looked like best parts I could find from one place; but there are definitely other sources. I’m following Pedro’s instructions from Pedro’s Grow Room:

Will a swamp cooler not be potentially disastrous.. with heat comes a rise in humidity, and a increased need to cool your room if you combat the heat with more humidity your flowering rh could be through the roof especially when there at maximum drinking levels. I mean I have never used one but seem pretty apparent to me ?
