THESE FREAKING THINGS ARE NOT ACCURATE AND CAN BE OFF BY UP TO 8% RH.

THANKS TO AMAZON, MANY OF US HAVE THEM.

I HAVE FOUR AND TESTED THEM SIDE-BY-SIDE. EVERYONE HAD A DIFFERENT RH READING.

THEN I WENT TO AMAZON AND READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS; SURE ENOUGH...........

ONE RECOMMENDATION IS TO DRILL HOLES IN THE SIDE AND BOTTOM; THIS HELPS A LITTLE.

HOWS MY RH DOING TODAY? I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA, I USE ACCURITE HYGROMETERS!!!!

:WTF:

Calm down bro. Get a different RH meter. Send the ones you've got back?

These units cannot be calibrated. Drilling the holes on the side is a redneck attempt to calibrate.

Well then, get a correction factor as outlined, or you could get a Calibre IV or other quality hygrometer which can be calibrated. You are absolutely correct, drilling holes in a hygrometer is amateur redneck stuff......and a complete waste of time and effort.

What's up @DarkGreen, add too much OCD with four inaccurate meters and this is what you get........:wall:

Reading back, I had to have a little laugh at myself, a bit of an overreaction I would say.......:jointman:

It's frustrating when stuff lets you down bro.

But with the kind of plants you grow, you're going to be fine!

Peez bro

Yeah, I have 7 of these. I have found that if I put them all in the same location for 2-3 hours, 4-5 of them will have a 2-3 point spread. Weird thing is it's not the always the same 4-5 that are in agreement. Accurate enough for me - I don't have much control over the rh anyway. lol

This is why you can't calibrate by noting the discrepancy per unit; the discrepancies are not consistent. I have a $3.00 dial unit that is accurate....:wall:
