Live Stoner Chat advice on seedlings when to change cfl to led/cob light

I have always been confused when to switch lights for my seedlings from cfl's to my led/cobs. One grow I switched over when they were about week up from the medium, and I think it possibly stunted them, even though the led(300w from the wall plug) was at least 48" above them.

Do you wait till seedlings have first true set of leaves ?
Or when the seedlings are a certain height and how tall should they be before switching over?
Or do you count days from popping through the medium?

I am curious about why you don't utilize the cob/led right from the get go?

Ok..you got me .. I'm a cheap fck...no i just have a small prop space... I have a small delivery room I use at times

I didn't know this was a thing. The joys of growing , everyone has their own method!

I start under cobs from day one at about 36 inches away, seems to be just fine.

Look, 5 day's from planting--Platinum p-350 LED, veg switch-- 40" away. Try it with LED'S, it might just work you.

I see nothing wrong with what you are doing. If you are concerned you might arrange a bit of shade for the first days under the light using whatever material you like.
