Live Stoner Chat AFN Site Feedback July 2015

This might sound really cheesy and cliche ... but what about AFN 'Meeters and Greeters'?
Has to be said, EVERYONE here is pretty damn friendly and welcoming by default ... but what if it was taken onboard as a philosophy?

I mean, for the first-time-visitors, these kind of sites can be a little daunting.
Anything we can do to emphasise the 'different' spirit here, and any hand-holding we can collectively do ... well ... worst case scenario ... it's not going to hurt, is it?

It has been our philosophy and policy for years, and the Live Introductions forum was made for it. If you'll notice the members with the High Team badge are in there welcoming everyone:

. Of course all members can join in the fun and roll out the red carpet also. Finding noob journals and popping by to give encouragement is probably even more important. :d5:

Allot of the problems getting talked about are features we modded into old vb4. Our current forums software has limitations. Which will get handled when we have funds to custom code some mods.

My personal gripes are the images. And how things get posted. It's almost easier to upload in the post rather than the xen media mod.
When i use tor browser I can't upload pics.

Plenty of things we need to tweak.

I also am bored of the layout. It's high on my priority list.

For what it's worth ... and I fully accept that from a 'Novice' and recent member like me, it ain't worth much ... but as maybe more objective than some who have made this a 'personal' labour-of-love ... as far as forums go ... it's pretty damn good.

I hope that isn't being lost sight of. :)
Baby and bath water come to mind.

The atmosphere and spirit MORE than compensates for a few technical glitches.
The quality of the information provided, the passion, the enthusiasm, the real community feel ... for me personally ... mean a hell of a lot more than the visual elements.

It's like the ugly grandmother with the grotesque, hairy wart on her nose ... your forgive the obvious 'cos she's got a heart of gold, who always gives the best advice and is full of genuine wisdom and life experience that money can't buy.

:)

Yozhik you nailed it man... Don't throw the vibe baby out with the bath water...

Mossy! I truly had no idea I was in charge of the entire photo section! Well then... *rubs hands together...* I better get crackin' then huh? Thank you for the nod! I knew my bag was photo reviews but didn't know it entitled the whole deal. Sweet!

Andy I see what you mean... As far as mentoring and grow styles... That's why I feel limited when it comes to helping some new growers... I'm a T5 grower and don't own a pH meter lol know zip about leds other than ones blue and ones red (right? Lmao!) so... I definitely feel you on that... Don't want to lead any one astray! Although I do enjoy helping people. Hell I think that's why we're all here ultimately... To learn, help, grow and show!

Off to my photo section hehehe...
