Hey guys, I need to lower the temps in my grow space and I am thinking of having to pipe in either fresh air or running the exhaust out. I am curious to know what people would say is better. Probably piping the warm air out may be more effective.

Thoughts?

Pumping air out will work great, and if the fan speed is high enough, the limiting case is that your tent temp will match the temp of where the air comes from.
Blowing air into the tent won't work at all, unless there is a vent for air to escape.
These situations are more easily figured out by assuming that air is an incompressible fluid like water, but smelly.

are you putting the exshauted air back in the tent , you have a pic

Whats the temperature outside the tent? inside? What kind of lights are you using? How big is the tent? :pass:

I have a 2*4 tent that sits in a closet about 3x the size of the tent. It all gets pretty warm, have about 400 watts of lights and fans and no real source of fresh air except what gets drawn in under the closet door.

Problem [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] no real direct fresh air
Problem [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] my exhaust out the tent goes back in the closet.

I think putting the exhaust out through the wall into the attic or so will make a good difference.

no real direct fresh air
No fresh air is problematic. Fresh air is imperative if exhausting into the same area. My fan/filter sits outside my tent and I always have a window cracked for fresh air.
exhaust out through the wall into the attic
Caution, can cause mold problems.

2 door vents, 1 high 1 low, duct from bottom vent to tent. Exhaust can stay same, fan filter out... upper vent should help exchange heat out of the closet.

.. if your in a rental, get a cheap door from a big box store.

How will this exhaust out of the room cause a mold issue? Fyi fresh air is drawn into the closet from the cracks around the door. Not sure if it will be enough but I can occasionally open the door.

I did run the exhaust now out of the room, seems to help with lowering the temps and humidity.

Exhausting into attic, as per one of your posts.
Hey, sorry is I am missing something here but I don't get how the exhaust into the attic causes mold issues in my tent, or you mean mold in my attic? Sorry.

I did put the exhaust in and like the results so far. Just had to punch a hole in the wall (more or less).

Temps and humidity are much lower now.
