Wassup guys i currently am using some 5 gallon round pots. I can fit four of these 5 gallon pots in my 3ft x 3ft tent :toke:

I see a lot of people that are doing soil grows on here use air pots so i was thinking of getting some 3 gallon air pots so i can squeeze 6 plants under my 400w HPS. You guys think i could pull off 6 autos under a 400w hps or should 4 be max?

-Can somebody tell me how air pots are better/different?

-Will i have to change my watering method or anything?

-Would a plant in a 3 gallon air pot grow better than one grown in a 3 gallon regular plastic pot if the conditions were the same for both?

im interested in them but would like to know how they work and why u guys chose them before i get my own :D

thanks guys :smokebuds:

:booya:You could do six but that would be crowded if some of them get big.I have been using 3.4gal airpots for a while now and wouldn't go back to reg pots. They are made with lots of nipples with the ends cut out so when a root trys to grow out the hole it senses the light from the hole and goes back into the pot and finds another path. The roots get air pruned from the dry soil in the nipples and therfore multiply themselfs rather than just circle around the bottom of the pot and sides causing the pot to get root bound.when you take your pots apart after a grow you will see the antire pot is one massive root ball. The more roots you have to absorb water and nutes the bigger and healthier your plant will be.If you throw some mygorrizae root inoculant in the soil at planting time the roots will benefit even more.I'm not one to try to many things that are new but i'm glad I tryed this one, they do work.

you can find the air pots at your local hydro store. i got 5 gallon for right around 4 bucks each

For over all root mass airpots are great for me having kids its hard to find the time to water them in peace as they can take a while later on in flowering so im going back to my Normal round 10L pots lol :smokebuds:

Watering is a PITA, with my last failed grow I did find starting seeds in a coir pellet helped with watering airpots, shame I didn't pot up quick enough to benefit! definitely going to experiment with starting in a coir pellet in the future, purely for easier watering

I know tons of factors determine size of plant but do u guys think I'd get more from..

4 plants in 5 gallon pots.

OR

6 plants in 3 gallon pots.

Were talkin under 400w, I know there other factors I'm just wondering what you guys think :bong:

You are right with your first sentence. To many variables to even guess. You might have to do a experiment on your own and let us know how it works out.
