Indoor AKR and Pineapple Express - Cheap git test

I have managed to get the plants out for some better pics.

They are both around 6 1/2 weeks old, the AKR is the first two pictures on the left and the Pineapple is the last three; love the deep green and bright white buds and sugar on the Pineapple, don't think I have ever had a plant start giving me sugar this early :)

I also put a couple of books under the Pineapple to raise her up since she has stopped growing but the AKR is still gaining about 1/4 inch per day.

hey all, can I ask a bit of advice.

Just checked on my PE and she looks to have a cal/mag type deficiency on a few leaves... spotted it a few days ago on one leaf and thought it was just water burn (as the leaf was underneath the tip of another).

I have given her 2.5ml of garden lime dissolved and shaken up as best it could in half a liter of water. (they are in 6 liter pots)

Thoughts?

The pineapple express is still getting slightly worse in terms of the deficiency.. have decided its probably a salt build up affecting the PH (since I am using small pots and using cheap ferts) - so am going to flush with 2l PH'd water, 2l with Flora clean and finally 2l with half strength nutes later today. Not sure if that's a bit excessive though :)

The AKR still doing okay, flowering proper now and looks like a 12 week finisher; one thing I have noticed with her, is that the top leaves always curl down after watering (as if over watered) - but she guzzles water really fast and only looks proper healthy when the soil is bone dry. Was going to start watering her less but more often - anyone else experienced this?

Just some pics of the Pineapple Express, she is at about day 53 (7.5 weeks ish).

I originally thought she was going to finish around week 10, but based on the amount of fattening up I would like her to do, I hope she goes the full 12 weeks (i.e. 4 more weeks).

I will post picks of the AKR once she starts doing something worthy - currently still slowly budding up - no frosting yet. Given what she has left to do I wouldn't be surprised if she went another 6 weeks (i.e. week 14 harvest).

so, I am an idiot... in order to keep it cheap I had omitted any thoughts of drainage... therefore my latest theory is that they are oxygen starved and both are handling it slightly differently...

The Pineapple Express is showing deficiency and had stopped growing, the AKR looked droopy at the top leaves after watering and was very slow in maturity development.

This all just happened when the (I assume) roots have filled the pots and the soil has compacted over time through watering.

So what I have done is started light watering with Peroxide (17.5% 1ml/l), and I have mixed 50/50 perlite/soil and sat the PE on top of it (in another pot) - this will hopefully allow the roots growing out of the bottom to expand and get more oxygen.

So far they have picked up - the PE has fattened and grown slightly - the AKR no longer looks droopy after watering. All pics are the PE.

I think I have about 2 weeks left on the PE - could someone have a look and comment. Thats another £10 spent now, so a total of £16 (26ish usd) for this grow (excluding electric)

Pics of the AKR (sorry about the quality) - as you can see she is massively under mature for her age (9 1/2 weeks) but really healthy and big for a 6 liter pot. She in theory has loads of long bud sites, but no buds and what is worrying is the hairs are starting to turn amber/red.

The pineapple express is still fattening up, but the deficiency is now spreading to a couple of the buds as well as all leaves. Whatever she is lacking is being sucked out of the smaller buds and bigger fan leaves. I am going to feed her plain PH'd water for another week then harvest, hopefully this frees up some space for the AKR.

So, cheap git test is failing to produce at the minute, but I cant help thinking this was something I could of avoided. I still think its a PH problem compounded by a drainage problem.

Going to start another seed as soon as the PE is harvested to try again - I refuse to give up just yet. I have a choice of super critical, super skunk, AKR or PE.

Does anyone have any opinions at all on my test grow?

I am subbed and will be on hand if you need any more help.

good luck with the rest of your grow mate.

Hi. Just came across your thread and I read it all. Your info, especially pics, was good and I am glad to find it as I have a 10 day Barneys Farm PE and 10 day Green House Seeds Green-O-Matic Auto growing in my yard. I am using containers with a homemade soil mixture (homegrown compost, field dirt, cow manure, bone meal, blood meal, and some soil amendment the wife got at Home Depot we used with our tomatoes). Climate is lower Alabama Zone 9 I believe (hot and humid with rain, typically a pretty good amount). I planted both these seeds in the container and in the dirt they will live in which I have done before. Wrong or right, in my situation it's what I have to do. Planting like this seems to work so I will continue using this until my situation changes.

This is my second grow this year. The first was bag seed coupled with a hope and a prayer which I planted as seed direct to soil the first week of April. Of the three I started, all survive and are in different stages of flowering. One is magnificent at 5 to 6 feet tall with 6 fat frosty colas about 10 inches long. Looks to be sativa-like, but I am in no way certain, and should be ready in 2 or 3 weeks. She gets nothing but Ph neutral water from today until harvest. Of the other two, one is some type of short height plant (2.5 feet tall at best) that was doing well then took sick and is only now recovering from a 4 week sickness during which I had to use Neem oil, Ph neutral water, Orchid (the flower) plant food, MG tomato food, and hope for the best as we played through it. She survived but I believe may be permanently affected. The other is a 6 foot tall sativa of some type that is just entering flowering. She had some health issues as well but seems like she may produce some bud The jury is still out. All three suffered slugs, grasshoppers, heat stress, underwatering, and nutrient deficiencies at various times but only the one looks especially sexy. I learned much during this grow which will serve me well in the future. I also smoked some really good Diesel my son brought me from Atlanta which tells me what I am trying next.

I wish you the best and really hope you keep up the pics, especially of the PE. I want to see what good PE looks like at harvest and I believe you will have it. Thanks again and good luck!

Thanks Joe, have you any pics of your sexy ladies - especially the 6ft'er?

I will try and get some more pics of mine later this week; I have tried everything seraphim has suggested (egg shells and molasses + epsom salts) so its just wait it out see if they recover.

If they don't recover, I estimate about 1/2 an oz off the PE and nothing off the AKR. Not 100% sure what went wrong to be honest, everything was the healthiest I have ever grown up to week 6 1/2 - them downhill since.

On the bright side, I have a good (cheap) soil mix and nute schedule from seraphim (over in the infirmary), so cant wait to try some girls with that.

Latest update - sorry I seem to have lost the ability to produce decent photo's. First two pics are of the PE, the last two the AKR.

They haven't got any worse since monday, in fact the PE has started showing some new growth around the bottom of the canopy (white pistols etc..). The AKR has not fattened up any, and am now not sure if I should just cut my losses and start afresh with her - I could wait weeks to see if she matures, and that two weeks could be new plant growth.

One extremely positive sign is that they were both bone dry this morning - first time they have guzzled that much water in weeks. Fed them a liter each of 1/4 strength nutes, molasses and .5ml/l epsom salts.

My plan is to probably harvest the PE in a week.
