Hi. Just came across your thread and I read it all. Your info, especially pics, was good and I am glad to find it as I have a 10 day Barneys Farm PE and 10 day Green House Seeds Green-O-Matic Auto growing in my yard. I am using containers with a homemade soil mixture (homegrown compost, field dirt, cow manure, bone meal, blood meal, and some soil amendment the wife got at Home Depot we used with our tomatoes). Climate is lower Alabama Zone 9 I believe (hot and humid with rain, typically a pretty good amount). I planted both these seeds in the container and in the dirt they will live in which I have done before. Wrong or right, in my situation it's what I have to do. Planting like this seems to work so I will continue using this until my situation changes.
This is my second grow this year. The first was bag seed coupled with a hope and a prayer which I planted as seed direct to soil the first week of April. Of the three I started, all survive and are in different stages of flowering. One is magnificent at 5 to 6 feet tall with 6 fat frosty colas about 10 inches long. Looks to be sativa-like, but I am in no way certain, and should be ready in 2 or 3 weeks. She gets nothing but Ph neutral water from today until harvest. Of the other two, one is some type of short height plant (2.5 feet tall at best) that was doing well then took sick and is only now recovering from a 4 week sickness during which I had to use Neem oil, Ph neutral water, Orchid (the flower) plant food, MG tomato food, and hope for the best as we played through it. She survived but I believe may be permanently affected. The other is a 6 foot tall sativa of some type that is just entering flowering. She had some health issues as well but seems like she may produce some bud The jury is still out. All three suffered slugs, grasshoppers, heat stress, underwatering, and nutrient deficiencies at various times but only the one looks especially sexy. I learned much during this grow which will serve me well in the future. I also smoked some really good Diesel my son brought me from Atlanta which tells me what I am trying next.
I wish you the best and really hope you keep up the pics, especially of the PE. I want to see what good PE looks like at harvest and I believe you will have it. Thanks again and good luck!
