Right guys i have run into a problem... I am running the Alien Pro RDWC 8 Pot system with a HC300 Haliea chiller with a constant res temp of 65-68f or under 19c.

The system i got was modified to run a norres diffuser in each pot so i have got 2 x HiBlow XP80 (1 pump for each 4 pots)

Now the thing is i noticed my PH tumbling last week and i was having to use PH up everyday so i dumped the system and refilled with fresh solution.

Now after a couple of days i have noticed the roots have gone a browny colour and didnt know if it was due to the Canna nutes.

I cant see any slime and temps have never been above 19c so can this really be pythium/rootrot ?

I have more than enough oxygen in each pot and temps are bang on so why would this happen ?

Please help as i took these today and im in need of assistance.

Im running a sterile system too.

HELP!!

One Picture was taken using the growlight sunglasses to give the effect of daylight as im using gavita lights.

Do they smell at all? Also, when your ph was falling, did the ppm rise? If the ppm rose, then your ppm was probably too high initially and you need to add plain water to dilute the solution a bit.

I recommend picking up a bottle of HydroGuard for future grows.

Yes inside the buckets do smell but its a weird smell, not like eggs... And when the PH was falling the PPM/EC was falling too.

Since i changed the system out yesterday the PH has gone up to 6.2

Hopefully it's just discoloration caused by the nutrient solution. Are the plants showing any sign of ailment or mistreatment?

I have been topping and supercropping them, but i did notice some of the new growth have bits missing on the leaves like a caterpillar has had em lol but only on a few

Nores in all pots!? Thats so cooool !!

So you're running an 8 pot Pro system ;) 34L or 55? I've finished setting up a 6 pot 34L.

The only time I ran into slime I tried it all. In the end, not going sterile and brewing beneficial bacteria saved the day. Ever since I run with bacteria and fungi and never had a problem since, quite the opposite.

Pics, we really need to see some pictures.

re: I thought your links were dead (recent forum change nuked most previous links) - let me have look ... I don't see slime at all, maybe its just the very begging and the pics don't show. Canna do stain a little from what I remember. If they smell like carrots or earthy, they're good

I am using Canna Aqua Vega for nutes (one being bright red like blood) so dont know if that could cause problems, and ive noticed they have been supping a fair bit as the EC has dropped to 0.6 from 0.7
Been down tonight and checked the roots and they arnt as brown as before but i smell like a weird earthy smell in the pots ?? is this normal ?
I Have not added any H202 since a few days ago (only added 100ml) and it was on 6.1ph yesterday and today it was on 5.4ph so i have added some more silicon to raise the ph to 5.9.
Also i felt the roots and they dont feel squishy or break easily but then they are all bunched together now.
I have just bought a bottle of Hygrozyme that was very expensive (£35 a litre) but dont really know how much to use and going off the label id be using 750ml per changeout in my system which is very not good at the price but ive heard its good.
I also bought some H&G Roots excel
Where to go from here guys ? Its the strong earthy smell that has me a little concerned...

Sweet setup! I edited my previous port. Earthy or carroty to me is good

But do keep and eye on them. Try taking pics with flash so we can see the coloration a bit better

Do you think thats enough bubbles using the norres ? or should i add more air stones ?

should i run anymore h202 ?

and the PH keeps dropping on a daily basis.

I have a bottle of roots excel and some hygrozyme (which is bloody expensive i might add) but dont know if i should try them ?

When i do a change out i get the 2 x res fill with tap water which is very very soft i might add at 0.0-0.1 to which im adding 1ml per litre of Cal Mag then letting it bubble for a day with air pumps. I then drain the system then flush a little bit with plain tap water then fill with the solutions from the both res then add a&b then ph to suit.
