Extraction Alternatives to smoking, ideas please!

I think it had to be more than THC; not only were there no visible trichomes, but it would have had to be very green THC, and this was a mellow, happy, INTENSE high that lasted for a good 7 hours.
Certainly there were other things that affected the quality of the high, but I've not seen any evidence for major psychoactivity of cannabis compounds other than thc.
There are some trichomes that are hard to see besides those big mushroom shaped ones.
Every cell in the plant has programmed into its dna how to produce thc.
I suspect that thc lives other places in the plant, in addition to the vast majority that exists in trichomes, and you might've gotten evidence for that.

Take a look at these articles, Simplicio: the research indicates that there is a crucial role played by terpenes in the overall effect of cannabis. THC is THC, but terpenes create the synergy of a specific strain.

If you want to get the absolute most out of your bud and still toke(but not smoke) definitely get a vaporizer....but if you want to get the most out of your bud and not toke, make yourself a batch of green dragon tincture out of 195 or 151 proof everclear. The amount of effect from 5 grams of weed is amazing in tincture. You get about 30ML of tincture from 5 grams of bud. I get very high on 3ml for about 6-7 hours. So we are talking 6-7 hour heavy buzzes 10 times on 5 grams of bud.

I will begin to make tincture in the near future. So you use slightly more than 30ml of alcohol per 5 grams of herb?

I thought the issue was what got you high, not whether terpenes affect cannabis.
It is well known that terpenes do have effects, just not the high effect that thc gives.
It is still just speculation whether terpenes can be used to distinguish different strains from one another.
Cannabis cup winners are usually those with high terpene content.

My bottom line: terpenes are important, but if you got high, it was the thc that did it.

From what I've read, it's more than just THC by itself. I was convinced by the research I read and by my own experience eating the leaves from week 2 of flower. I continue my research on this...

Terpenes do not get you high.
Only thc does that.
Terpenes affect only the quality of the high in subtle ways.
Your 2 week old flower's thc is what got you high.
As I might've said above, I read in Mel Frank's book that beginning flowers are potent with thc.
If you have evidence that terpenes get you high, I'd like to see it, because I've never heard that before.

Didyou look at any of those articles? We don't have to argue about this back and forth over and over;each of us is entitled to our take on the role of terpenes. From all that I have read, terpenes deflinitely give a profile or character to each strain's high. Otherwise, I dont think there' be any difference between a sativa and an indica strain, or any strain for that matter. I'm not simply referring to strength of the high, but to its character.

We are talking past each other.
I read the first link carefully, skimmed the second, but neither has any bearing on this discussion.
I thought the issue was what got you high from 2 week old flower.
To me it's certain that it was thc, because terpenes don't get us high, and you will be unable to present evidence to the contrary, because it doesn't exist.
Whether strain differences are due to terpenes, or to something else is presently unknown, and it has definitely not been proved that it's terpenes.
At this point that claim is pure speculation, and there's been plenty of that, but no proof.
