New Grower An Assortment of Owls(6x Night Owl Seeds(Daz.mephisto))

FINAL Update Part 2: Super Cyan Haze
Never really got her runoff PH to a respectable range. Even after flushing her with 25 liters of 6ph her runoff went right back up to 7+ after the next watering at 6.5... But she somehow pulled through, but not without a surprise... Remember I mentioned around day 30 of this lady's life that I may have found 2 male sacks and removed them? Well I kinda forgot about it seeing as she showed no more herm signs since then. Well she decided to throw some nanners around Day 70(I'm guessing here since I was overworked and couldnt really inspect her as thoroughly as I wanted to), but I only noticed them on Day 75 during an inspection. Removed about 6-7 closed nanners and 2 opened ones... Decided right then and there to Harvest her 5 days earlier than I had planned. Really soured my mood toward an already wonky second grow(even my first had less issues, atleast AFTER flowering started), coupled with my limited free time put some stress on me for a few days. Especially after I saw that the remaining plants started to develop seeds, which meant less energy given to developing the buds. But I got back into the groove a few days later and found my motivation again!

Smoke Report and Yield(Above):

So... after having such a phenomenal start compared to my first grow, I was expected me to double the yield of my first grow for a short time! Oh how wrong I was... Anyway... Final conclusion to the entire grow summarized will be at the end of this final update. Even though this is a new personal best yield I was really expecting alot more seeing how large these plants were so early(compared to my first grow). Still not exactly sure why my runoff PH was so high and if my chasing it by adding more and more nutes to feed what I thought was a hungry plant is what ultimately lead to the plants being in a state of stress for the most important time during flowering... Still some fire though! She didn't have much of a smell or taste after her dry, but after 2 weeks of curing she's become really enjoyable to smoke! Smells similarly sweet to the Blue Microverse now and even has that Spicey taste too, but is accompanied by a very kush like undertone instead of the pine and musk undertones. She's the least potent out of the bunch but that's because she was harvested a bit early. In no way is she to be underestimated though. I smoked a fatty of pure Super Cyan Haze today after work(first joint of the day) and it knocked me out for a few hours lol.

Conclusion:
Very fast growing plant off the bat! Not sure if my aggressive training after a smooth topping is what caused her to herm on me, but it was nice to see that the stress during flowering caused by her high soil PH didn't cause her to throw those nanners any earlier. Looking forward to running her again eventually! Just got alot of others I want to try atm!

Next up: Owl Pellet #2!

Stay tuned!

way to go eel! :clapper: ppp
Thank you man! I've been so exhausted! I hope I can finish this entire final update before falling asleep lmao! I gotta check out ur new grow when I get a chance, how's it been going man?

Final Update Part 3: Owl Pellet #2
So this lady here had pretty much the same thing going on as the Super Cyan Haze, just way too high runoff PH... even after flushing with 25l @ 6 PH... But anyway... She pulled through despite the stress being put on her by the ph issue. A few very underdeveloped seeds, but nothing I even need to actively pick out! That double bud she had developed bud rot though, right in between the buds. I could only see it after seperating them while I was harvesting her... Strange as there was definately way more than enough airflow and RH was around 35-45% during the final weeks. I had 4 double buds during my first grow: 3 on White Cracks and 1 on a 4 Assed Monkey. Not one of those developed bud rot. And one of them on the White Crack was freaking huge! Weighed in more than her main at 17g dried! Main was 15g dried! So... was quite disappointing finding the bud rot, but at that point I was used to unwated surprises lol. Still happy with the end result though! good smoke! Oh and did I mention she was dripping sap. I noticed some on the floor of the tent and also while I was trimming her! And again on a tester nug I broke apart to put into the grinder!

Dry Weight:
1574554359357.jpeg

Smoke report:

As with the Super Cyan Haze, not much of a smell or taste right after drying. So strict burping regime for curing! After about 2 weeks in the jars she's also gotten her smell and flavour back! And is also very enjoyable to smoke! Very potent! Smells like Grapefruit and chemicals. And taste is primarily of the grapefruit, but not sweet: Bitter but a nice bitter, very smooth! Wouldn't have a clue to what this mystery seed might have been! Unlike any flavour I've had for sure! These just keep getting better during the cure!

Conlcusion and yield(above):
So ended up with 72g, not bad but as with the Super Cyan Haze I'm sure it would have been more had the plants not been stressed. Next time! I hope! I think I'm going to let these Owl Pellets go natural or only minor LST from now on, as you can never be sure what kind of strain you will get.

Alright guys and gals, im going to have to call it a night. I've been falling asleep time and time again for the past hour or so while writing this. I'll finish the rest tomorrow!

Until then, Happy Growing everyone! And thanks for stopping by! Let me know what you think!

FINAL Update Part 4: 1 liter Airpot Owl Pellet
So this was the little Owl Pellet I planted into the 1 liter Airpot for the r/autoflowers subreddit 1l grow comp! Really impressed me! Smooth sailing almost problem free until a week or so before I harvested, her runoff PH shot up real high like some of the other plants... Very strange, but she managed to pull through pretty much unscathed and gave me more than I could have hoped for from such a small pot!

Dry Weight: 20.1g !!! Really dense nugs! Was expecting about 15g!
1574618034859.jpeg

Smoke Report:

I've sampled a little here and there, and she's got a very subtle smell even a few weeks into her cure, and her taste isn't anything special, very earthy and piney. But her high is amazing! Very strong hybrid high that lets you get shit done!

Conclusion:
So, 20.1g from a 1 liter pot in 70 days! Not bad! Very surprised actually! Would definately try something like this again. Probably next year when I plan on running autopots Ill do a few 1-3 liter plants for fun. Also don't regret topping this little lady at all! She took it great and the yield shows!

Next up after a short break: Tropical Wiz!

Stay tuned!!

FINAL Update Part 5: Tropical Wiz
This beautiful lady was surprising to say the least. Doesn't seem she liked the low stress training, so in the future I'd let her go all natural for sure! She pulled through with minimal issues, but for some reason during her final few weeks she started to lose her smell and felt rather dry to the touch. Her leaves also taccoed like crazy! But she pulled through! Beautiful colours and she was also dripping sap! Covered in layers of trichomes!

1574622286001.jpeg

Dry Weight:
1574622204024.jpeg

Smoke Report:

I am glad to report her smell and taste have returned after being in the jars for a few days! I was quite worried for a while there! She smells pungent and sweet at the same time, and her taste reflects that. Coming in very pungent at first with a smooth sweet aftertaste. And yeah, she is strong! Melts your face this one here! Very enjoyable smoke, and doesnt leave you feeling tired!

Conclusion:
So, 41g is a little less than I'd hoped for, but the quality more than makes up for it! Would definately want to run again and let her go natural! Both times I've ran her(outdoor one I lost 60% to mold in the summer) she has turned this beautiful purple toward the end! Definately worth it just for those! Some of best looking buds I've grown to date!

Next up is Owl Pellet #1! Stay tuned! After this short break!

FINAL Update Part 6: Owl Pellet #1
This is the little lady I decided to abuse with heavy defoliations to keep her size in check, as at the time I thought I would run into space issues(how wrong I was hehe). Well first of all I shouldn't be topping mystery seeds lol. Turns out she was a really small strain to begin with, I'm guessing strawberry nuggets or a cross there of(as she absolutely reeks of strawberry with a hint of fuel), so it wouldn't have been loads better to let her go natural! But man she was the best smelling plant in the tent right after the Zamaldelica Express. and really really intense smell too! All through the dry she never lost it. And man she was soaked in resin! What a sticky plant!

Dry Weight:

Smoke Report:

Man does she have terpenes! Absolutely reeks and tastes of strawberry with a fuel aftertaste! And she is definately the most indica dominant of all the ladies! Knocks me out every time! But I really gotta hold myself back with her! I want to smoke her all! But she tastes so good I gotta treat her like a real treat! Once a week for now! And her taste and stone are only improving with her cure!

Conclusion:
Definately should have treat this lady better, and let her go natural. But we live and learn! She was relatively problem free compared to some others this run! And man is she tasty! So worth it! Definately getting myself some Strawberry Nuggets on Black Friday!

Next up: Last but definately not least: Zamaldelica Express!

Stay tuned!

FINAL Update Part 7: Zamaldelica Express
So... This one was going so well up until around day 63... When I decided to give her a break from feeding and give her some plain PH'd water, twice... well she freaking hated me after that for a while. A week and a half later and she looks like hell! But she came back and stabalized for her final weeks! Buds didn't fatten up as much as I'd hoped but they are still dense as hell! And man does she smell delicious! I can't even describe her smell other than fruits mixed with vegetables!

Dry Weight:
1574626326750.jpeg

Smoke Report:

Ok so she has only been curing for about 5 days now, but my god is she a pleasant smoke! The most enjoyable out of the bunch for sure! Her smell is exactly the same as when she was growing: very unique blend of fruits and vegies. And her taste is exactly that but also with some piney/fuel undertones. Her high is incredible! Truly a sativa in this regard! Very pleasant day time smoke but it doesnt make you restless! You can smoke it in the evening no problem! But she does make you want to get creative! Have another one in a 22L Airpot on Day 2 right now in my just started 3rd grow! Hope she yields more in that larger pot!

Conclusion:
Yield is a little less than I hoped for, but she went through hell and back and still gave me potent, and awesome tasting flowers! Definately glad I got another 5 pack of these as I think I will try and keep one in permanent rotation. Might have to move aside for the new meph sativas coming this friday!

Summary of the entire grow
Alright then! So total yield for this grow was 350g! Only disappointing in the fact that I actually yielded more during my first grow. But we learn! I definately did too much overthinking this time around trying to apply EVERYTHING i've picked up since my first grow. Well it was awesome at the start! This grow was about 4-5 days ahead in terms of growth compared to my first grow! At one point I even thought I was going to double my yield :help: But yeah... I definately misread the situation and went chasing after high runoff PH by (most likely)overfeeding the affecting plants. And underfeeding others(Zamaldelica) causing unnecessary stress during the most important part of the flowering cycle. Well, I'm relieved it's come to an end. I've cleaned the grow room top to bottom incase there's still spores from the hermie floating around.

Thank you all so much for following along for this grow! And one last time let me appologize for the 2 huge breaks there were during the journal! Hopefully the next journal won't have breaks that long!

What's next!?

So this is what I decided to do for my next run: I got new lights! the P300s were just too loud and got way too hot for my liking. And also the blurple light was annoying to work with... So I decided to get myself 2x Kingbrite 240w lm301h(V3)+CREE 600+UV+IR QBs! One 3000k and one 3500k set, each with seperate heatsinks! So 4 Seperate boards with 2 drivers! I'm loving them so far! Onto the rest of the plan:

I decided I wanted to try out my own Super Soil mix with what I have access to where I live. I'm going to be moving to Autopots for the grow after this one(some time next summer, after a break), but for this one I'll be using Airpots again. I don't live in North America nor the UK, so had to find my own solution to a psuedo Super-Soil. This is what I came up with:

First off I'm going to be using bigger pots since the 10L Airpots(2.7gal) are too small to keep the microbes nice and happy without having to water too often. I decided to try 15.5L and 22L Airpots(~4gal and ~5.5gal). For the soil this is what I'll be using:

-30% Locally sourced Terra Preta(Black Earth with 30% BioChar)

-30% BioBizz Lightmix

-40% BioBizz Allmix

-Only dry amendment I'm premixing into the soil: Guano Kalong Bat Guano Powder @ 5-6g/liter of medium.(It has NPK 1-10-1, and 2.5% Calcium)
-Will use Palm Tree Ash dry ammendment alongside the Guano during flower(both water soluble).

Details on the Terra Preta:

-Garden Compost 40 -60 %

-Farm Manure(Cattle, Horse)10 -30 %

-Worm Humus Compost ca. 10%

-Soil containing Clay ca. 10 %

-BioChar ca. 30 %

-Nitrogen: 0.5 -0.7% Total N, (NH4 < 3 mg/kg, NO3 >100 mg/kg)

-(Phosphorus)P2O5: 0.35-0.45%

-(Potassium)K2O: 0.7-0.9%

-Mg: 0.35-0.45%, Ca: min. 2.5%

-Dry Matter: 50-60%

-Rock Meal, Clay Minerals ca. 2 %

-Organic Matter: < 30 %

-EC: < 0.9 mS/cm

Mixing Ratios:
-22L pots: 30% Terra Preta(locally sourced Black Earth with 30% BioChar), 30% BioBizz Lightmix, 40% BioBizz Allmix. Also amended with Bat Guano(1-10-1, and calcium) at 5g/liter medium. Pots have a 1.5 liter center core of just Lightmix.
-15.5l pots: 25% Terra Preta, 35% Lightmix, 40% Allmix and amended with 6g/l Bat Guano. A 1 liter core of pure Lightmix.
-5l pots: same as 15.5l pots without any core, as an experiment to see if seedlings can take the amended soil off the bat. So far they are lookin healthy as can be

Feeding:
Prewet the pots with BioCanna Rhizotonic(root stimulator). Molasses every 2-3 weeks. And once flower starts, ill be adding palm tree ash(pk, 1-10 and mag) along with bat guano once again every 2 weeks(its also water soluble). If any additional N is needed i can add BioCanna Vega(fully organic), but i think that should cover everything the plant needs as there loads of micro nutes in the guano and palm tree ash aswell lets do this organic thing right! Other than that plain tap water is what these ladies are getting!!
