Mephisto Genetics Another Dream Farm Project!

Really interesting, I know nothing of alpine deserts but I guess that's why you have HID's, for the nighttime too keep them warm and increase yields!
I bet once the sun has gone down it gets mighty chilly up there!

Yep this is one of the coldest places in the lower 48. I saw -38f a few winters ago and -25 is normal in the winter. In the summer it never gets above 50ish at night. Also it definitely helps with the yields. I also run a propane heater for cO2 at night as well.

Sounds like a good place to live, I hate places where it get really hot!
Just had temps get to 90F here in the UK, which is hot for us here, it only lasted a few days but it frazzled me!
I had to turn the lights off in the day, to help keep things cool!

I have the exhaust fan hooked up so it only gets a few degrees hotter than outside, which, while yes I am in a desert it iS an alpine desert in southern Colorado at 9k feet so it only gets in the high 80’s
I hunted southern Colorado it was crazy we were on a ranch about 9-10k elevation and it had the craziest weather. 80 deg on the flats then go down these canyons in the shade and it was like 55-60. Then h get on the sun side and u were sweating again lol. The change in elevations were crazy it was either flat or damn near vertical. Night times were cold no matter how hot it got during the day. It was great

One of my best friends grew up in Littleton and we did the drive from Vegas to Denver when we were both living out in NV and it was AMAZING. The drive, etc .. but Colorado is so unique and gorgeous it's crazy! Definitely glad I've experienced it several times... :pass: the garden of the Gods is NUTS

Yeah it’s crazy. As soon as the sun goes down it drops like 20 degrees

Dream Faarrrrrmmm!!!

Nice to see you back and rockin' out the grows, @derek420colorado !
Sounds like a good space.
Though, if more than 200 sq ft needs a permit, I thought you'd be running ... 9'x19', haha!
It's cool how that greenhouse is just like sitting out there, seemingly in the middle of nowhere.
I'm imagining a 2 mile power cord to the nearest town, ha!
Can you tell us about the materials you've used?
A bunch of 2x4s? Some heavy plastic, what grade? Is it especially for greenhouses?
Thanks for tagging, and keep us posted.

Yeah I would be running just under 200 sq. ft buttttt I am also building my big house at the same time this summer so I don’t have the time to dedicate to anything larger than 8x12’ and about 20 plants for the next few months. After this run though I will be adding another 8x12’

the materials I used were basically just the wood left over from my big greenhouse and some 6 mil greenhouse plastic that I bought on amazon for about 70 bucks.

I am using two vivosun 1000w MH/HPS they only ran me 300 for the two might kits with bulbs and reflector and hangers. So I only had to spend about 500 to get everything back up and goin.

as far as the power, lol yeah it seemed like that for a long time that I was strechin an extension cord. But now I have power ran to the property(that only cost 17k uggggh) so I have a plug on the back of my cabin so the extension cord only has to run about 30 feet now lol. I’m just stoked to be back up here and at it again.
