I recently got into homebrewing beer with my wife and a few other couples.

Curious if anyone else here was involved with brewing as well as blooming?

bounce ideas, swap recipes, talk shop..... afterall Id rather talk here and have green talk with it,. then risk ridcule trying to chit chat in beer forums.....sorry but Im a smoker first....

I've got most of the kit and I'm going to brew beer later in the year, but first will be a quick wine recipe that @trailanimal gave me. I'll be doing that tomorrow, it only takes a few days. We miss the sweet fruity inexpensive wine we could get in Tenerife, so I've got to try doing it myself! I don't have a lot of brewing experience, but did do some very lively ginger beer a few years ago which exploded and stained the ceiling... :crying:

I've done beer but now do fruit juice or sugar water with a lot of fruit, fresh, canned, dried, and champagne yeast. Fast and high alcohol. It's not a mellow aged beer that's for sure, but puts alcohol in camp fast. @Eclectic Elle it finishes dry, no sweetness. I start drinking as soon as it stops fermenting, but is better if you let it settle a couple of days. Cheers!

Yes, I remember you said I can stop it fermenting early to be sweeter. Can I add something in afterwards instead, to sweeten it?

What is your favorite style to brew?

We set up a fridge to run 3 taps and hold bottles under. I have an American amber and lemon shandy in constant rotarion, and we brew rotating 5 gal batches, and stsrted a bunch of 1 gal kits.

Going for variety, as we entertain with other couples that brew and bloom.... Have get togerher every few weeks.

May is our first of a rotating host monthly " Brew -n- Bloom" where we plan brews and grows to flavor match strains with flavored beversges...ciders wines beers lagers shine and such we all make. Then cook themed meal nd have a saturday get together
