Is it possible to use a single exhaust fan to sufficiently pull air from two seperate tents? :toke:

Ill try to explain without a picture...say i have 2 grow tents each with a 400w air cooled hood in it.

Lets say they are 2 feet apart with a single exhaust fan in between them. if i attach a Y splitter to the exhaust then run duct into each air cooled hood can i use that single fan to pull air from both hoods/tents?

anyone ever done anything similar or seen it done another way? :smokebuds:

i plan on ordering another tent and light but if i can save some money from using the exhaust fan i have now to pull air from both id like to do that, if theres no way possible ill get one but i thought id see what you guys think :D

The more ventilation ducting you have, the more lights you have to cool, the more CFM you need.. also with 2x 400W HPS, make sure you have a way to exhaust all that heat and it's not recycling into the same room the tent is pulling from brother. Otherwise the air-cooling becomes pointless.

So yes, you can use a single fan, but you'll need one of great quality, like a Vortex.. Even then there's no way for us to really tell how well it'll perform until you do a dry run on it, but for the price of the Vortex you can probably get two single fans you know will work. ;)

Agree with goodie! Calculate your cubic ft for both and do the math to how many cfm's u need and then find a fan that will handle both tents! Factor in carbon scrubbers, duct work length and temps! Trial and error bro! It's a bitch! Lol

Yea man id cut a hole and have it going out of my room, ill look around and see what i find, just wanted to know it can be done, thanks bro:smokebuds:

The link for the Vortex in my post isn't the cheapest but it was just to give you an idea of what you'd need.. and be warned, they're not quiet.. I have one in my closet, can hear it down the hallway if it's on full speed.. that's with the closet door closed, room door closed.. haha.

i feel you man my setup is in my room so i gotta blast my tv to hear anything lol :toke:

would this work..http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-Active-Air-inch-In-Line/dp/B002JQ14F8/ref=pd_sim_hg_2

to pull air from two 36'' x 36'' x78'' tents?
heres the link to the tents..http://www.amazon.com/LEDwholesalers-GYO1005A-78-Inch-Reflective-Hydroponic/dp/B002TZTS8E/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1360640612&sr=8-16&keywords=grow+tent

Id have a 400w air cooled hood in each one..:smokebuds:

Yea Man. I got two tents a small 2x4x4h and a 4x4x7h, the lil one has a four inch filter in the tent and a 6 inch filter pulling outside. The big tent has a 6 inch filter in the tent and a 6 inch fan out, pulling. T5 in the little tent 600w hid in the big. After the fans comes a wye to a filter and out. I also have an inline booster on the hid. So to answer your question, and I had to over vent just in case. I can run the big tent with the little tent fan off and the draw is enough to cool the little tent. But I am glad I got extra power it's winter here when summer comes i'll need it.

I had to over build to find this out but all good in the long run.

Invest in a duct muffler, I've had fishtanks louder than my grow room since adding, and I am running two fans thru it:thumbs:

did u mean a 6 inch fan pulling out cause i only see 2 filters and two fans?

so if i had one tent that was 3' x 3' x 6.5' which is 58.5 cubic feet i would need a fan that can pull 3 times that so 175.5 cfm?

my other tent would be 2.5' x 2.5' x 5' which 31.25 cubic feet so times 3 would be a fan that can do 94 cfm.

175.5+ 94= 269 i would need an exhaust that can pull atleast that correct?

If i wanted to put a "y" spliter on this single exhaust fan and run duct into each cool tube in each tent ( id leave one side open of each cool tube for the air to be pulled through) this 400CFM fan should work?

i would have intake fans in both.
