Hi spaniards ;)

I am looking to move to Spain and wanted to ask some local growers about THE Weed country.

So, if anyone would be so kind and maybe help me out a little with some info i would gladly share one :)

Thank you in advance,

F.

Hi bro, am a English Expat living in Spain now for just over 10 years. Ask away and will try to help in any way i can, there are a few members here from Spain so hopefully between us should get the answers you need.

green loving people are the kindest in the world :)

thank you @Spanglish

I have a lot of question :D

1) in which region would you grow?
2) is there any difference by law, where the growing should be legal or safer? I know that by Spanish constitution vaguely gives you rights to do whatever you like in your own private land (grow but not sell)
3) how is growing weed culturally accepted? I mean to you get an attitude from your neighbors?
4) how would you describe growing weed in Spain? (in general, just your thoughts).

Please note that i dont want to put anyone at risk, so if you feel some questions should not be answered, don`t. I`m not fishing for info here, just researching before i move :)

Not a problem bro am happy to try and help.

1) I have lived in the South East for the most of my time in Spain and outdoor growing conditions are perfect if not be it a bit to hot in the height of summer, but if you get the correct strains that tolerate higher heat levels you wont come across to many problems, due to a long growing season photos can be grown into trees you can start them for a couple of weeks under lights in early March and have them established and outside by the end March start of April with them going 6-7 months looking at a October harvest. I never grew autos when in the South so have no experience in that area, but would think with correct strain selection and giving them a couple of weeks inside to get started they would do well down there also, and with that long growing season should get 3-4 grows in per year.

Have spent the past few years in the North of the country and that is a different climate completely, with alot shorter outdoor season only in the past few weeks here have the temps and weather been stable enough to think about a fully outdoor grow, and with the days longer by a hour or so in the north outdoor photos are not such a great option as they will start to flower a bit later and the cooler damper weather will be here before the end of flower period, so if running outdoor photos in the north would recommend fast finshers for sure to avoid risks of mold and mildew. Autos are alot better choice for this part of the country and still get a long enough outdoor season to get in a couple of harvests without the need of any extra lighting.

2+3) Is a common misconception that weed and growing is legal in Spain, yet it is true the constitution protect your rights and privacy in your own home it is not a free pass and even though not common you could still very easy get raided and or arrested, you most proberly would not end up in jail for a small personal grow but you still would have to prove in court that it was personal and by then you have already gone though a lengthy legal process and confiscation of you weed and grow equipment, so still best to be safe rather than sorry.

Things were looking to be heading backwards in Spain with new laws coming to affect on July 1 that went over your rights being protected by the constitution and would have paved the way to the same prosecution and fines being given to small home growers that would be handed out to possesion and trafficing on the steets and conveniently at the same time this was due to come into affect the existing fines were to be doubled.

But over the past few days the goverment has made a complete u turn on this new legislation, with what is now in affect the decriminalization of home cultivation from July 1, the exisiting fines are going to stay in place for public possesion and not be doubled, and the text for the new public safety law has been altered to clarify home cultivation directly which now states that cultivation is only a criminal matter when visible from public places.

As for acceptance as in all things is down to where you are and your neighbours, but in general i have never felt uncomfortable in Spain due to my grows or use of pot and is common place in summer in some bars and terraces to see people openly smoking without a care in the world, but as i said before this can vary from person to person and place to place but if you stay polite and dont cause noise and problems i would be suprised if anyone says anything negative about you and what you are doing.

4) Growing weed in Spain is awesome just as it is growing it anywhere lol.
