Indoor AS auto blue diesel and Nirvana's northern lights auto grow, nutrient questions

Your plants look great ... they accepted the soil just fine and the perlite is working well for you. I'd say they are right on time for growth. Two gal containers will stunt them a little but you won't see that for a couple weeks. I feed at 10 days, most don't. I would not use big bloom. I would use a VERY weak dose of whatever you have that is for growth ... probably take 1- 2 cups each .. each watering thereafter I would increase the strength slightly ... such as start at 1/16 and go to 1/8 then 1/4 strength by about 3 weeks old ...

edit ... as healthy as they are I think I'd hold off a few days to feed ... the FFOF seems to be doing it's job ... I use a much milder soil so I feed earlier ...

:tiphat:

Thanks for input Chester. Only reason I would use big bloom is because it is a very light nute. Maybe Grow big would be a better option?

I'd give them a weak shot of Grow Big w/ the next watering and see how they like it ... 1/8 tsp / 2 liter max for a first time ... make sure that w/ each watering that you're leading the roots toward the outside edge of the pot and down ...

Did a weak dose of both grow big and some big bloom, just a little bit though. They look great, I would take some pics right now, but I fractured my elbow at work at about 12:05am on the 20th. What a bummer. I'm lazy right now. Pics tomorrow.

Hey, feel better, man. That blows the bologna pony.

Beginning of third week, looking good. Big bloom and grow big. Blue diesel on left, northern lights on right.

Peace, B.

Had a little problem with the northern lights girl, must have spilled some water with the ferts in it on some of the leaves cuz a few just shriveled up and twisted around... It was bad. I clipped those
Eaves back a bit and things progressed OK. I noticed that the actual budsites were the same size as the side of the plant that had no issues. Being a defoliator with my photo grows, I decided I would turn this into an experiment as this is an interesting question, especially in the autoflower world. I used defoliation on my last auto grow and it probably didn't hurt, but now I can do a side by side, even though they are different strains, they are about the same size, with same amount of nodes. So, we will see. I took all the fans off of the NL lady, from what I hear she is resilient, so hopefully I didn't shock her too much. I throw up some pics in a day or two, but nobody's really following the thread so, you'll get them when I feel like taking some. Peace.

I realize two gal pots aren't ideal, as is evident by roots coming out of the bottom of the pot... Should I bother transplanting though? I know it's rough on auto's, but its either that or defoliate. Or will the roots eventually stop? They are almost at 3weeks since coming out.

Hey guys, little update, if anyone is still following, please let me know.. Both ladies are doing well, although, I think it's pretty clear that auto's shouldn't be messed with when it comes to high-yield techniques. The northern lights (stripped of all Monster fan leaves) will do just fine, but the blue diesel (leaves all still on, but I did clip the tips) is fucking huge (leaves are size of my hand) and looking very nice and very happy. Fed last night with just under half a teaspoon each of fox farms big bloom, grow big, and just introduced tiger bloom. They are about 4weeks old. At first I had wrong plant date, and marked my calendar wrong, so they are in week four. Here are some sexy pics..

In case its hard to tell, the one with flat tipped fans is blue diesel, the smallish looking bushy one is northern lights, all fan leaves were plucked about four or five days ago. BTW, in last pic my hand is holding a stem of a branch coming from the very first node, (or second, if the single leaf node counts as one) either way, its only about three inches lower than top main cola. Crazy, never seen this size happen so quick, wish I had three gallon pots, I'm really worried about root binding..
Cheers,
B.

Here is a side by side, as you can see blue diesel is towering above the northern lights, which just a week ago was about two inches taller than the blue diesel. Plants really are amazing if you take the time to appreciate how amazing they are. Especially this particular plant.

Week five, lots of sites showing up, 9 main tops on blue diesel and nine or ten on northern lights. Same amount of nodes, eight inches of difference in height. Really weird. Here's some pics, even though no one seems to be following at all. Hey AFN, Are you there?
Peace.
