I'm thinking you count the days from when the seedling sticks it's head up out the soil.... regardless of how long it takes to do that from the day you wet it. There might be a wee difference in the growth pattern between a plant that appears after a day and one that appears after a week or so but if you take care of your babies it's not going to be much. Certainly not much to worry about. That's what I think anyway. Maybe I'm wrong.
Nice, you got jems, mate. I'd say do your best to make a seed run this year just to be on the safe side. I'd not want to loose that strain. Original gems are like hen's teeth these days. A pity coz it's still one of the best strains out there by all accounts. They don't call Mossy the Wiz for nothing!
Well actually, they don't call Mossy the Wiz.... not since she changed her name...
Yeah I was fortunate to get some of the original jems when they first came out. I'm guessing that was 3 or 4 years ago now. The first thing I did was do a massive seed run and I've been using them ever since.
I think the genetics of the ones i have are a little less stable than the ones that are about now. Most are about 2ft high and every now and again a tiny 8" runt will appear BUT every now and again you get an absolute MONSTER thats can be upto 4ft high. . Now down to about my last 30 or so seeds so I thought I would do a strait run of pure jems and also a cross of jems and jackauto .
Not sure what the cross will be like as jackauto is a new strain.
I find that temperature is critical for germination. I always do so on top of my computer for the heat. If you have problems germing old seeds, then you could try the following.
1) Abrasion, to let water through the husk.
2) Hydrogen peroxide solution. It softens the husk and lets water in.
3) GA3 solution. Give the plant a large dose of the hormone, it is supposed to make itself, to get it moving.
Well Done....3-4 years of self-sufficiency is Admirable..you will Know them as Well as Me now.
Proper Grower..IMO..
is the Jack Auto from Jack Herrer..?..if so..it will make a Cracking cross..it was one of the ones I homeworked for the same thing.
If you see Stone Dragon on site..that is a Dragon x Jack Herrer cross and she is Perfection...
Well actually, they don't call Mossy the Wiz.... not since she changed her name...
