Hey dudes, just bought 350$ worth of some organic ingredients. I am super pumped about this, I've been wanting to try organics forever, and now its time to give it a go. If I can get a stable soil going there will be no end to the amount of plants I have going at one time and I can convert my whole shed to one big grow room lol.
Eyes you've been tremendous help my friend, thank you a bunch. If I may, a few more beginner questions (I have TLO, and teaming with microbes, books on the way so I'm being impatient here forgive me).
Is a 1 month cook time enough to start potting plants in the mixture?
How long can the soil "cook" before its either too hot, or no good?
I plan on trying to start some seedlings in a soil/tlo mixture, I was thinking since the tlo mixture is to hot for seedlings, could I cut it pretty hard (say 80 organic soil / 20 tlo) and be able to start seeds with water only?
And last question- when I run coco I use small pots (1gal), my question is, does a small pot work well with TLO? Would a 3 month old plant in a 1 gal pot be able to sustain itself on just water and the occasional tea, or dressing? Or is it just better to have a bigger pot so the roots have more than they need to keep on keepin on?
Oh and by the way, I think I've decided to try and use a 50/50 coco/tlo mix for my first try.
