started a new grow today of Automatic Hindu Kush from Lowlife seeds and Autmatic Il Diavolo feminized from Delicious seeds. Running them in a home built box under LED using DWC and drip feeding systems. started germination today and would love to hear from anyone who has experience with either of these two strains as they are both new to me as are autoflowering strains in general, any input or advice would be welcomed. Thanks

This grow will be documented on at least a weekly basis in my journal and this thread feel free to follow my grow and comment as you want.

Love to see your pics soon! Cavedirt Cody Grew Auto Hindu x AK 47 in DWC and got some great looking bud in a simple setup even while dealing with a few minor problems. You should check his thread out. Also glad to see you want to be here too, the vibe here is very welcoming and helpful!

I've grown the Lowlife Hindu Kush. It's a true dwarf, not getting much bigger than 10-12" tall. Heavy indica stone with good medical potential. Don't remember the yields, as they were grown 2 1/2 years ago, but not huge producers given their size. Mine were grown outdoors so given you are growing indoors yields should be a little better.

BTW, what LED are you using?

the LED light I am using is the sunshine systems 90 watt grow UFO, i am impressed with its light output and spectrum and there is nearly no heat generated by this light, the pic in my above post is with the light on and the ufo is about 3 1/2 feet above the hydro unit in the picture, once i put the seedlings into the rockwool i will be lowering the light to about a foot above the plants for maximum lumens.

Nice to meet you. My current Hindu Kush is 16" tall. The 2 I grew before one was 12" and the other 20". The 20" plant was a completely different pheno. The 12 and the 16" plants were very similar in bud structure and veg time. In the 3rd week. The 20" plant was a week later to show sex. A dry O would be a good pull from the Hindu Kush. The tallest plant smelled of BO, the runt smelled of pine, and my current smelled of pepper during flower. All 3 finished to a fruity sweet smell. The smoke is true indica couchlock knockout. Heavy!! My fav. smoke of the the four auto strains I have grown. All the plants were branchy, but the branches grew straight up. You would be really
Be able to pack them in.

cool thanks for the info CDC, I am hoping I wil be able to finish out 5-6 plants in the box have it is 2x2.5 and 5 feet tall. however the more I look into the LED lighting threads here I am becoming more and moce convinced that the 90 watt I have is simply not going to be enough to cover that amount of space alone and achieve decent penetration, given that, I am probably going to be getting another one of these lights so that I can position them at different angles to achieve the penetration I will need. The specs on the light i have are as follows
LEDs :90 x 1w high power bridgelux
Blue: 455-470 nm
Red: 630-660 nm

I am curious Muddy, since you seem to have some experience with LED grows, If I simply get another one of these lights and mount it at a different angle than the first for better penetraton will the two 90 watt ufos be suficient for the area I want covered, (2' x 2.5')??

I'm lighting about the same size area with a 180 watt unit, but it's made with 3 watt LEDs so my penetration is fine. I've seen some people buy several units like yours and mount one on top and 1 on each side. With two I would think the second one would be best mounted on the back at a 90 degree angle from the first. You would then need to turn your plants daily to get the most out of the second light.
