Hey guys.... thought I might post up a grow.. all the way from Australia..

these are 4 think different from dutch passion...

all in 50 litre pots..

the medium is canna coco with worm castings... a 70/30 mix :) There is some sugar cane mulch I have added over the top of the medium. Our weather is hitting 40C daily. Very HOT and partially moved them into a shady/sunny area..

this is the third week of growing them and they have been recieving a low dose of canna nutes at a steady ph of 5.8 for the last week. They seem happy enough. But what gets me is why the hell are they taking so long?

Doesn't autoflowers like been outdoors or something? Ive never seen such slow growth in my life... Check out the pics?? Leaves are facing upright soaking in the sun..no apparrant problems I can see whatsoever...

:jaw:

Any ideas guys because in my 6 years of growing this one has me STUMPT.

Im not sure about soil but check seymour buds think different grow indoors dwc with led. Thing was crazy with growth.

Frow what i have seen autos like hydro/dwc and being indoors with LOTS of light but im not that experienced its just from the average pics and grow journals on here.

I ruined my grow with a poor Ph/ec metre in dwc so dont let my grow put you off.

i got help from seymour himself with my ph issue and he sorted me out. Best to go looking for help rather than waiting for it to come to you. Everyone on here is more than happy to help so dont hesitate in asking someone if they are experienced in that type of grow.

Good luck with the rest of your grow i will be back to check out your progress when you have some new pics

well my grow is going shocking... here in australia we are getting 40C days! and the the humidity is stupid!! These seedlings are going under extreme heat stress. Its the only thing I can think of. They are receiving low dose canna with a steady ph of 5.8. Nothing is wrong whatsoever.

I have two options... to leave the plants in their 50L pots and deal with there stupid slow growth and barely yield anything...(They are ONE month old now)
I can down transplant carefully into little 5L pots and bring them under a 250W CFL and give them two weeks inside so they get some more nodes happening and then transplant them back into their 50L pots. I think its the only option.

Check out my updated shameful pictures...
wish me luck stoners. I have another 5 think different seeds aswell. so they are germing now with the 250W cfl option and then I will transplant them outside after about 4 sets of nodes so they are more vigirous and can deal with been outside. They are simply too fragile in australias heatwave at the moment. I have tried putting them in the shade but they are just stunted now...

I will have a total of 8 Think different plants... I plan to get some tiresas mist and spray one plant so I am left with hundreds of female seeds.

I will be doing a never ending cycle throughout winter of raising them under a 250 cfl in 5L pots for 4 weeks and them chucking them outside in their 50L homes... This will be a good thing for me with constant yields throughout the year...

I also plan to get some dutch passion AUTO mazar... I grew out the normal mazar from dutchpassion and the thing is a real knockout stone. Too much for some people... Check out my last picture of my beautiful buds I had last year ... she was an outdoor girl aswell... Sooo sticky and smelt like a rotting corpse. I was gagging when I came close to her (no word of a lie) .

Nice Mazar grow bro sorry to hear that the TDs arnt booming for ya - i think the indoor start up should help, if not check your soil mix ? might be too strong for seedlings ? Like you say the Ozzy sun is probably too much for them, can you get a fan on them or netting to shade ?
Good luck with getting your operation dialed - with that much sun you should be getting crops all year round im sure its possible.
What about solar panel powered leds ?

Different strains are adapted to thrive in different conditions.

Look for outdoor strains can take the heat.

Don't feel bad, there are some, how many do you know of that grow in snow?

You said they are 1 month? Is that from when they first popped there head up or when the seeds were planted?

Is the pot drying out from the heat? Check soil temps, you may be cooking them. I would say shade them and give them either early morning direct sun and/or late afternoon sun. Make sure they are not in direct sun during the middle of the day.

nice going on the mazar the smell sounds pretty intense. i've got some autos going at the moment and they were about that size at one month in the same size pot, they grew quite alot during the 2nd month with very similar weather to you except lower humidity though, still feels weird knowing they were so small only a month and a half ago.

keen to see yours do well smokditup, good luck

Haha, chucking them outside in the winter. I wish that was an option here. They'd be dead in a matter of hours. So it's only 40 deg where you are? Sounds pretty cool for Oz I'm waiting for the British spring/summer time and it's a bloody long wait. Just gonna do a mixed bag of autos in a little greenhouse thing and hope for the best. If it gets anywhere near 40 deg then we'll know that the world is coming to an end

Ozzie challenges

Matey - It's a shame what you've had to endure up in QLD this summer. I hope you're not too badly done by the drought. I'm here in Sydney and have had pretty good luck with my first round of Auto's from Dinafem. This is my first successful auto grow with my first few attempts failing by:
1) Too much Aussie Sunshine too early, cooking 5 plants in their infancy.
2) Bloody Cockatoo's and Indian Myna Birds decimating my sprouting plants
3) Bloody bogans pilfering a lovely Tutti Frutti 1 week before harvest (bastards snipped all the buds and left the fan leaves - baaaad karma).

One think that I found, especially here in Oz is that the Auto's love loose soil in bit pots - my best plants had just about 50% pearlite in the mix (10 Litre Pots). This helps a ton with keeping the root temperature down and allowing plenty of Oxygen to reach the roots. I've also been feeding them every other day with a gentle mix of Seasol and Bio:Juice grow during their brief veg cycle and then seasol and Bio:Juice Bloom whilst flowering - and then adding in Black-strap molasses for the last 3 weeks of flowering. My largest plant is barely 400mm high, but this is desirable as my stealth terrace grow needs to stay short to remain stealthy.

Again, I really hope you can see the end of drought soon up in QLD mate - my heart goes out to all you farmers doing it tough. :peace:
