New Grower Avoid Royal Queen Auto Jack Herer

20/4... I was wondering about that!

Lowered from 20/4 to 18/6. I will wait and see I guess.

Do you have a grow journal on AFN for these?

What kind of lights are you using? What are your temperatures in the tent? Do you have temp fluctuations? What size pots, what kind of growing medium, what kind of nutrients are you using and at what strengths, feeding schedule?

Would definitely take jm's advice and try lowering the lights-on period; I've seen a few grows documented where the "auto trait" didn't quite pull through and they had to be flowered like regular photo strains on a 12/12 schedule. Would be worth a shot, at least!

There are a lot of things that can affect a plant's ability to flower, like environment, temperature, light schedule, etc.

Mine has been growing 14 weeks now! I thought it was something I was doing (had a week with accidental overheating) but now am convinced this is just the strain...

Note there was indeed some heat damage to some leaves from a malfunctioning heater. This was found quick and corrected and the plant only suffered damage to some of the fan leaves of the main cola. No other growth problems at all. Here is a top pic of a bud that received no damage:

Could you explain the heat damage situation to us? It might help explain what's happening with your plant. On my last photo grow; I had a light/heat problem with one of my plants where it grew into the light. Burned the crap out of the cola, then the excessive heat burned out a bunch of the growth on the underside. Lesson learned, but I let it grow on along with some other plants. I had fixed the problem, but the old growth never fixed itself. Luckily; new growth started filling in over the old stuff, but I had caused a lot of heat stress damage to the plant and ultimately it didn't yield for crap.

I've never grown their genetics and I'm not affiliated with them at all; I just think we should explore all the variables before making any hasty decisions on the quality of a strain.

Anyways; I hope your grow works out for you bro, good karma and vibes!

great stuff as always vap!!! :gthumb:

yeah... I'd cut it to 14/10 or 12/12 ... vap is :point: some breeders havent fully tested out their strains for 100% auto... it takes several generations to get a fully auto plant from a cross...

yopu prob just have a light sensitive pheno...

next time you get one going way over... you know to flip it for real... :crying:

Hello!!! I am growing in DWC, which is the only way I grow anymore. Just one plant at a time since it's just for me and I really don't have much opportunity to toke up these days, I work 6 days a week and need to keep on my toes!!

I use 1/3 strength GH nutes, the 3 part series of course mixed for flowering phase. I am also fortifying the brew with Top Max from Bio Bizz.

The light is the same I have used for all my grows as of late, a 135 watt Darkstar LED light. Heat is staying at around 75 to 80 now.

The drama can best be seen here but in a gist it was a week of too high of heat due to a heater I had in the garden that must have a faulty thermostat. I swapped it out and the temps are holding steady now. As I said earlier the leaves of the main cola were effected but nothing else was burned.

I have done as suggested and switched to 12/12. I am thinking that since the strain is new for 2013 there probably was some some development in the autoflowering trait that was simply overlooked, or at least that is what I am hoping...

I suspect the same.. expect the flowering to progress on the new 12/12 schedule... I will say as a breeder, sometimes gen F4 or F5 will still have a VERY small number of non-autos... so sometimes they slip through.

Impressive... I bought these seeds from the Original Sensible Seed Co. and emailed them about this strain. They are sending me some auto amnesia to thank me for letting them know about it. That's the sign of a good seed bank!

After this is all over I am going to send Royal Queen a report as well, hopefully telling them that they need to put a note on their description that some pheno's need to be finished off under 12/12.

Nothing new on the plant but it was only one cycle I guess! Thinking I should be seeing some positive results by Friday or Saturday if the new light regimen is correcting the problem

P.S. Hi Bob!!!!!! He's your man for colloidal silver!!!!!

I thought I would share some pics under normal light. The way the hairs are starting to turn makes me think the 12/12 switch may have been too late. No yellowing leaves yet however. Let me know any opinions!

The last pic was a bud sight that was injured by heat which explains the discoloration and twisty leaves.

One last question, I pollinated the bottom branches of this plant with AK47 X Hindu Kush from Lowlife. Do I dare even use these seeds after this huge disappointment?
