New Grower Avoid Royal Queen Auto Jack Herer

Kudos to my AFN friends!! Your prophecy has come to pass.

I intentionally left the plant to do it's thing without me checking on it for a few days so I would notice a difference if the 12/12 was indeed working.

Checked today and there are indeed white hairs sprouting up over much of the plant. The main cola does not seem to be doing much but I am starting to think that the heat stress may have damaged it more than what I thought.

The rest of the plant is throwing white hairs over much of it. Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions!

High!

At last it started for you :Coolio:

Quick question, now that you went 12/12, will stay on that till end or will you change again after?

Peace!

I'm staying on it until the end! I just want this plant to finish up so I can start on my next project haha!!

Thanks, was wondering if it could be put back @ like 18/6 after 2 weeks of 12/12.
Never had that issue but will be doing some Auto mob / C99 and she will not flower easily :)

Peace

I do still wonder about those bottom branches I pollinated... I suppose I could plant them and if they start to display this "semi-autoflowering" activity just flip to 12/12 but it seems to defeat the whole purpous of growing an auto in the first place! They are indeed getting really fat though so at least they should be healthy

One last question, I pollinated the bottom branches of this plant with AK47 X Hindu Kush from Lowlife. Do I dare even use these seeds after this huge disappointment?

the auto gene is a dominant gene.... well its a recessive dominant... hard to explain... but you put auto in anything... eventually (enough generations usually F4 - F6) it autos fully.... you cant stop it.... period!!!!!

so... I'd keep em since you got the time and energy in on the polly... and consider them to be LS (light sensitive) strains... which is good... leaves you control over WHEBN to flower... but happens fast when you do... LS usuaklly 45 - 60 days flower.

Thanks jm!! Luckily the ak47 x Hindu Kush is an auto and they had absolutely no problem flowering so I'm hoping this trait transfers over! If not at least I know what to do now, and sooner than what I did with this jack herer. The new pistils are changing to orange already. Hopefully more come. Worst case scenario I should end up with popcorn buds and I will keep the sugar leaves as well to get some old fashioned "hippie weed". Since it's just for me I guess it really doesn't matter and since I vaporize only it shouldn't be a harshness problem:). The seeds are at three weeks development now. As fat as they are getting I am assuming they should be half way there since from what I have read it takes 6 weeks for them to mature (this is my first time pollen chucking). If at that time the thing is still growing airy popcorn buds I will just harvest the whole thing. I do have one question.... Is it true that one should let the seeds age a while before planting and if so how long? I'm going to be growing northern lights x big bud after this so they will have some time to sit anyways but I'm curious... Thanks again!!

Harvested the main cola today. Most of the hairs had changed. Most of the trichomes were clear but it looked like it wasn't going to get any fuller. This has allowed much more light to hit the lower buds so I think I made the right decision!

Here is the tiny harvest from the cola. I didn't do all that much trimming because there really wouldn't have been much left! They are certainly full of crystals however.

The rest of the plant is responding quite well to the removal of the top cola coupled with the reduced light hours. Buds continue to form but are quite airy unfortunately. This could be a sativa trait however...

I do sincerely look forward to finally sampling them tomorrow. Grinder and vaporizer are waiting patiently as well!

I miss the days when I didn't work 6 days a week and could get stoned all the time haha! Seriously though, I obviously am not curing these since they were just harvested and at present only one is dry even. This shouldn't matter much however since I only use the vaporizer. I will let everyone know tomorrow what the effects are, the taste will have to wait until the rest of the plant has been harvested and allowed a proper cure. I hate that chlorophyll smell that creeps up the nose on freshly dried buds"Grrr"

I would imagine the effect will be better when properly cured as well, but time will tell!
