Hey guys! New member, Az native here! Finally got my hands on some seeds and decided to start and try a grow journal along the way of raising my plant. I have never done a grow journal before, so if there is a universal format to this I apologize if mine does not match, I'll do my best to make it easily understandable.
Currently im working with simple materials as this is my first outdoor auto grow:
-5 Gallon pot
-biobizz litemix soil
-Advanced Nutrients Bloom, Grow, and Micro 1L each
-Perlite
-unsulphured molasses
-Black Cream Auto (female) from DeliciousSeeds
Since I decided to do a grow journal on the 4th day of starting this, the seedling has already germinated, and I am currently (1-19-18) on the second day of her being in soil.
I will go ahead and grant you guys the logs I have put into my phone based on my current progress so far; as far as pics go, I will upload some later tonight once I go back to water her again.
I don't want to vomit too much information and have this massive text wall for you guys to read, so here are days 1-4. (I did this in a notepad doc on my phone, which I will update regularly and transmit to this page)
For the germination process I went ahead and used the wet paper towel method, and let her sit in my closet for 24 hours before re-dripping the paper and giving her another 24 hours. On the day when I planned to plant her, I actually placed the box she was in inside my car's glove compartment, and the increase in temperature definitely caused the taproot to almost double in size within 4 hours of being in there. I did not expect this, as I simply placed her there for safekeeping, and definitely didn't intend to do so for so long, however after seeing the results I may do so again in the future.

Day 1; Week 1
-began germination.
1-16
Day 2; Week 1
-checked germination, small appearance of root beginning to develope.
1-17
Day 3; Week 1
-checked germination, taproot is fully visiblex extended and ready for planting. Planted 15 minutes before sunset, gave 0.685 gallons of water to start.
1-18
Day 4; week 1 -watered with 0.70 gallons of water, soil was only just barely moist when placing a fist inside. No sign of sprouting yet.
1-19

Alrighty guys, just got back and I have some updates. I realized that the soil level was pretty low when comparing it from the top of the pot(bottom and far right pic), so I decided to go ahead and attempt to add more without (hopefully) traumatizing the seedling too much to kill it. (I have 4 more I can germinate if this one dies, so I'm honestly not entirely concerned since I learned a lesson) What I did was lift up the center where I planted it, and filled the hole and surrounding area with more soil, added 5 cups of water, then placing the center back on top and gently leveling it out and patting the soil down (First picture). Here's some pictures as well of what is goin down, if you guys could also let me know if that super huge shrub would affect how much light the plant would get, I would appreciate it. That massive shrub is also my "hiding" spot, so if you guys think it will hinder the grow too much ill end up trimming the shrub and making her more leaner for light rays to make it through.

Yea, down in Az we dont have to deal with the so-called "white bullshit that falls from the sky" haha. I know a few buds of mine that actually will start their spring grows right about now because the temperature is already rising down here

welcome and good luck bro, this is a gorilla grow? put a couple of small 2x4 under the pot to keep it off the ground, should help keep the soil warmer. also depending how often you can make it out to see the seedling you may want to cover the top of the pot with some plastic wrap or an up side down gallon bottle with the top cut off, to protect from birds and mice/bugs until the seedling is bigger. thats all i got for tips right now.

Already loving this forum, you guys are awesome! To start, I payed a visit today and no seedling has popped yet; I held off on watering today as we actually had a forecast for a chance of sprinkles, and sure enough we got about an hour or 2s worth of some sprinkling. @SUNDOG yes this is a guerilla grow, ill definitely stop by lowes and just grab a pallet from back, got a guy who works there he can hook me up. As for protecting it from birds/mice/bugs, I decided on a grow spot where not alot of animal activity occurs; it is close enough to where I shouldnt have to worry about any major prey; however, I have read up on other pests like mites and smaller bugs, any recommendations for those later on? Thanks for the feedback guys, hope to see more! Ill post up an update of her later tonight when im home

Looks like those (shrubs) are giant desert brooms. They get in your soil, they'll take over that plant in a hurry. Brooms take out part of my veggie garden every year.
Good luck with the grow! And welcome to AFN.

What exactly do you mean by overtake? I went ahead and placed plastic wrap on the top to prevent anything unwanted from falling in, is there anything else I can do to prevent this overtaking?
