Well I tend to be very experimental and tried out a method I just assumed might work, and Im just curious if anyone else has tried this. I planted an Afghan kush seed on the 7th directly into the rockwool cube and then straight into the clay pebbles. I have the PH level at about 5.5-6.0 and the water is pretty high, the bottom of bucket is touching the water. I'm thinking the seed will sprout and the roots will just work their way to the bottom of the bucket? Am I wrong for thinking this? I know the seed hasn't even been planted 2 days I know, but should I remove it from the clay and maybe put in a humidity dome until I see the seed sprout? or just see how this plays out :stoneslap::grin::check:?
I'm using 2 56w CFL in a 2ft T5 I believe.. Ill post picture of it
I'm new to the forums and plan on posting a lot and sharing my results so please any bit of information helps! ask me anything

I also did not check the PH of my water used in the cube.. kinda just stuck it in.

While not my preferred method, that should work as long as you conditioned the rockwool before planting the seed and the water level in your bucket isn't so high that the rockwool is sitting in the water. Unconditioned rockwood has a high pH so needs to soak in either a conditioning solution of some pH balanced water before use to neutralize it's pH. Rockwool should be moist but not soaked. It should never be in direct contact with your water.

Okay now I know what to do next time thank you so much. Now the cube I used for this plant is unconditioned so should I cut it out and put it in a new one maybe or just let nature takes its course? I believe the a unconditioned water in the cube is a really high in PH anyway (maybe around 7.-8.5). The bucket is sitting in the water a little bit but I don't think the cube is deep enough to be getting soaked.

No harm in giving it a couple of days and see what happens. Just make sure to adjust the water in your bucket to a pH of 5.8.

Yeah I just got water pH to 5.8 and look at the cube and can see the seed opened so I think we are in business :) Thank you for the help
