New Grower Bear Thinks Different.

Hi guys. To start things off, let me say. I'm nervous and thrilled at the same time. This is my first thread, my first auto flower grow, and only my second grow ever. The first grow turned out disastrous , I started with bag seed, first lesson learned, start with good seed stock.:check: second lesson, do not use time release soil.:check: I had mg soil, :no:. This time round, I have followed the example set by SB, and Hazy. Ok maybe I am just dreaming of a huge harvest already. HAHA.

The set up:
4'x6' closet painted flat white

1 600w digital hps:check:
1 400 mh:check:
1 440 cfm inline ex fan :check:
2 fans in the garden for the light breeze:check:
1 50 lbs charcoal can :check:
4 19L autopots with homemade airdome, <can't seem to find airdomes in the US>
Line pots with hydrocorn, fill with coco/perlite 70/30 ish :check:


It has started 2\15\13 soaking coco brick in cal-mag treated tap water that has been gassing off for 12 hours. 2 tbs cal- mag 7 us gallon. tossed in a splash of Clonex clone solution, maybe 10 ml for all 7 gal.

Being my real first grow, I have decided to crack only 2 beans at this time. The fattest Think Different bean in my wee 3 pack. Thnx to The Attitude
Also I have tossed in a NYC Diesel from G13.

Into the cup for soak. Gassed off tap water, drop of Clonex. I could Bearly sleep last night I find myself staring blankly into my cups.:joint:

12 hours later, still floating, hmmm. Let me thump em with my grubby bear paws, yup, one tap on both, They sank.:thumbs:


In the autopots now, 400w mh about a meter away on 24/7, 70 Deg, 50% rh Will turn on ex fan when we see green

I have made a purchase order requisition from the boss, for a camera . Let's keep our paws crossed.

What is a charcoal can , and what do you use it for?

Anyway, sounds like a good set up to start. Plenty of light I think. I will be poppin in and out to see how things go.

Thanks mate. charcoal can is my poor way of saying carbon air filter, for removing all the good smells er, offensive smells. :dance:

Between these three growers, you have a great deal of resource.. all three of them have grown rain forest sized trees with Think Different genetics.. They're the reason I was going to go ahead and purchase a pack, but when I found out it was Sativa dominant I had to pass.. I wish I could handle a sativa high, especially one as great as TD is supposed to offer.

68 deg 55%RH seems a bit chilly So I put a heating pad under the pots, raised room to 73 deg.

light on a 20/4 cycle



Lst, I have seen these Think Different beans grow into trees here on AFN. :drool: I have string on stand by if needed. I could tie a ring around the pot , and GENTLY hold down a branch or 2. Let's hope we need use it.

On a side note, no reply from the boss on the camera. Will be a patient bear. Good things are sure to come.

Dear Mrs. BiPoBear,

We are nice people at AFN. We noticed that our good friend Bear doesn't have any pictures to share. We here at AFN think this is a tragedy, as all his friends have camera's. They are happlily showing pictures to each other, except for bear. He sits in the cornere all quiet wishing he had a camera like all the rest of his friends. In order for us to not have to see Bear being sad. we are graciously requesting that Bear be allowed to own a camera, so that he may share pictures.
