This will be my first experience with autos and I am using DWC. Can I use smaller net pots for these little guys being the roots are going to expand through the pots anyway? Or should I stick with the standard 5 inch, thanks

Some people use the really small net pots for NFT and Aeroponics (I'm not familar with DWC so much) but when I got my NFT gully system made and when I made my own Aero pipes system I used the larger cups with large holes in them so the roots could get big and grow out of them.

If you were to use a small net cup with smaller holes (that are more suitable for growing clone in imo) then I would guess the roots wouldn't be able to grow as freely and get as thick...

personally, I'd use the larger cups and give your roots plenty on room. that small cup will seriously restrict your root growth, IMO. :Sharing One:

The thing with the small ones is the roots just tear them up they stretch and break and are only good for one use....but I used them and had no ill effect on the growth..

Im with G6 on this ive always used small net pots in my DWC grows, the roots grow in the res so pot size is no big deal. :tiphat:"My 2 cents"

toke

if you use a bigger pot then surely you are using more space in the res? which would mean LESS space for roots :dunno:

I can say for sure IME I've gotten smaller plants from smaller netpots, but that could be due to my setup (Ebb/Flow).
I don't think it would make a difference in DWC or NFT.

Either way, have some zip ties on hand, cuz some plants will split the cup!!! You guys with your 5 gallon buckets!!!"Bailers Booya"

Thanks for putting your thoughts out there guys! I think I will just go ahead and treat these ladies to the big ones. Trying a high CBD strain this season so I'll give them plenty of room to breath.
