Extraction BHO Discussion Thread

Hi all!
Just popped over here for the first time after getting my permissions, been extracting for over 3 years now with basic equipment, no CLS yet.... Still plenty for me to learn but I can hold my own when it comes to making a good dab.

I'm wondering what do you guy's do with the material that is left over after blasting? would it be of any use?

Hey bud, I've made canna-coconut oil with blasted stuff and it still has some value, I just used 4-5 times as much material as normal and squeezed it out really well. Everyone loved the rice crispy treats I made with it. To be fair, I've also thrown a lot of post blast weed away, it's definitely more of a sedative effect than the edibles made with full strength butter/oil.

Glad to have you in. We need to drum up more business in here. How about some photos of some Dabs put up buy members. Might get peeps in here. Also, we could throw up some general invites in say, the Stoner's Gossip, or Whatcha Dabbin' on threads.

I will put up some pics of the Blue Dream and AK47 CO2 extracts I am working on. I have kinda morphed into only CO2 dabs for me from now on. It is better on my breathing I think. Maybe it is just in my mind though. heh heh.

True OG and Trainwreck. Sorry, I thought it was AK. But this extract has a nice Honey look to it.

The Blue Dream extract has a red look to it, and less transparent.

Ran 30 Grams of some Green House Alien Vs Triangle breed by Mephisto this was a test run to see yield.

We pulled 3.2 grams of some HoneyComb so not to shabby.

I would not want to ingest any product that was washed with butane.

I was reading about oils in the infamous Wikipedia. Information form that source has to be checked and double checked.

What I found is that our material contains lots of THC-A, the inactive, acid form of THC. The wiki article says the carboxylic acid form, which is an inactive form of THC has poor solubility in solvents. Also, the carboxy-THC needs decarboxylation for being psychoactive.

Could the plant material be toasted in the oven for decarboxylation?
I don't care about terpens, if they are lost. I want to get the goodies out and to maximize goodies, it seems like a decarboxylation protocol should be designed.
