I'm wondering what do you guy's do with the material that is left over after blasting? would it be of any use?

I can't wait to get into this. At first I was very intimidated by the entire process but after reviews, this thread and reading up, I'm excited. I most definitely will be safe!!

Being a rookie in this, I have a few stupid questions.

First, is BHO method considered the best method for the best return? For anyone that has done BHO and Rosin Tech....how do they compare in terms of return?

I get it all up until the final purging. From what I understand I have either the choice of a 72 hr. vac or heat purge. After most of the butane is 'hot water boiled' away, can you do the heat purge indoors or is there still too much butane that could potentially cause problems?

When you heat it for 72 hours, I assume that you are going to get the aroma associated with this?

Okay, perhaps vac system may be best. Any good cheaper units you can recommend?

How about a good place for a 5-7mm glass extractor tube? Is cheesecloth okay to use on the end as the screen?

Butane. Is this stuff from Home Depot okay to use or does it need to be more refined?

Ok as in Yield Comparsion I'd say it be pretty close. If never squished a oz before but have ran ozs and Lbs into BHO before. Once my press arrives we will know for sure as I plan to Blast a Oz of Buds and squish a oz of the same buds to get a Comparsion. But from what I have pressed I'd say it be close to the same.

Now with the Purging the Most crucial step.i wouldn't say the most dangerous as if you can be harmed at anytime during this process if not done correctly.

Ok back to the purging question. If you are only purging say a gram or 2 of oil I'd say 36-48 hours you'll be fine but 72 hours is play it safe method which I like. Do your hot water bath outside get all the butane out you can. I'd recommend doing your heat purge outdoors for at least 3-4 hours before bringing inside. Now the room you bring it in make sure it has proper ventilation as you don't want to be inhaling those fumes or having them exposed to any type of spark or flame as that WILL cause it to combust.

As for a Aroma it's not to bad it does smell a bit on a heat purge vacuumed not at all.

Here is a good buy on a Kit. I'm not sure how big of runs you will be doing this chamber will purge 15 grams no problem. I use a 7 gal chamber.

As for Extraction tunes here is a good tune once again not sure what size you need but they have all types. This is 4mm thick but very good glass and American made.

I have never used cheese cloth so I can't say but I have used coffee filters and mean screens.

And I would never use that Butane from there or that brand. Get some Power 5x or colinri vector or Newport.

I got my screens and 5x butane ordered. I'm going to go to a local shop and see what they have for tubes.
In regards to the vac pump......Should it have a heat element/system?
When you use a vac system, do you still need to apply heat?

Yes apply heat I use a griddle with cermanic tiles under my chamber to buffer the temp to a perfect 116

Hey guys...... So I'm getting a bit closer now. I have everything I need now. I'm just waiting for my current girls to get somewhat established then I plan on using most of what's left from my first grow! (I want to make sure I have enough smoke for the wife and myself before I go blasting an oz only to find we're getting short...)

Anyway, couple of questions.

-Is there any need or desire to decarb the weed before making BHO?

-I got myself a 14g glass extraction tube as I only plan on doing small amounts. If I want to do it twice, is it acceptable to extract into the pan, clean out my tube and do it again into the same pan?

-When you are done, how do you dispose of the waste in the tube? Assuming it is, or will be soaked in butane, do you just throw it in the trash or do you wait a bit first?

There is No need to De carb your weed prior to blasting. If you choose to not Dab your Oil and plan to take orally then it's easy to de carb once it's in a oil state.

When I Blast Multiple tubes into my Dish I use a few tunes and pack all at the beginning. But since you have one tube I would not blast while Hot water bathing that way it stays a bit more of a liquid state while you work fast at unpacking and re packing your tube. I personally don't like blasting on top of wax that is big bubbles meaning the vast majority of the liquid is purged out. This way happen as your running only 14 grams. And that will maybe take a half can of Butane. And it will evaporate fast. If it does it's fine just spray on top of your 1st run. Then water bath it.

I take all my waste product and store it in brown paper bags out side for a day or so then I toss them in my shed and save it to toss on a Bon fire.
