Mephisto Genetics Big sm0's

One of the reasons I use it is it seems to stabalize my tap water in the res and makes my branches un snappable (is that even a word [emoji23] [emoji23]) they bend but they don't break adding it last will just gunk up all your other nutes and it's always best to mix it separate in water then add after calmag you will be surprised how strong the branches become [emoji106]

I was doing it wrong.:face:

Thanks for straightening us out.:d5:

Regarding the proper order to add silicate additives, I presume and recall reading that the silicates additives are even more problematic, more active, ion/salt-wise than calcium and magnesium, and that silicates should be added first, even before the cal-mag. This is what I do. [But get other opinions on this too].

It can be confusing it says add before nutrients but do you class calmag as a nutrient or additive as long as it's working for you [emoji106]

How do you dispose of it? I grew some of the biggest autos with 1-1.5 oz buds hanging off 5 foot tall branches and never had bugs or branches snap unless I snapped them. The more I read and see the more I realize I don't want it in my space.

Don't know I use mine it's a natural element found in soil water it down and chuck it on your garden the chemists at our place said chuck it down your drain dodgy bastards just dilute it to feck and down the drain [emoji106]

I haven't really talked much about the room since the intial pictures at the beginning. Last summer I ran a window Ac which died 1/2 way through the season. Shortly after I bought another which lasted 3 months. Air conditioners aren't necessarily made to cool 80 degree rooms when the ambient temp is below 65 degree nevermind below 0.

So far the new 12k mini split has cooled the room so much easier and smoother than the window Ac. I regularly check the fan on the outdoor side of the unit even on a 90 degree day the blade spin slow enough where I can count them. The struggle was always humidity. Dehumidifiers being the biggest energy hogs and produce the most amount of heat. Which is then resolved by the Ac working harder. That cycle was extremely frustrating to watch. If I were to shut down the dehumidifier I could watch the Rh% raise immediately even with the Ac on.

Small changes!! I dropped 1000 watts of light, by spread the light out better I feel there is till plenty of photons hitting the plants. New air conditioner removes enough humidity that the dehumidifier very rarely kicks on now. Usually during lights out only. That's a double savings, no dehumidifier heat and less the Ac has to do. I also lowered the air scrubber speed slightly. That saved me just about 40 watts. I even lowered the oscillating fan speed from 3 to 2. Not much savings here but nothing wasted either as I repositioned them to better places.

The reward came in the mail. My electric bill had dropped 350 dollars! I don't anticipate this to be the regular savings but I do know it should stay close to this. The rooms temp is staying between 80-82 degree. Humidity is still a little higher than I'd like but I can't lower it much more without really paying for it at 55-60%

The point of all this is to show how important every aspect of the grow is. Adjust ablight or moving a fan can save real money each month.

Very well said, I too count every single watt..... They're nothing but trouble, heat, cost and stealth..... The MEACO humidifier i have uses 165 w, that's that same as 3 x Autocobs with nary a photon in return!....Thankfully its never been used except for a few times when drying.

I also think the total wattage used for a grow, divided by the yield, is a more true measure of GPW...... saying a particular light yielded 1,5 g per watt or whatever, is rather meaningless.....
