Strakey- weird symptom there,...the really dark spots don't match up with any defc. that I can think of, and they don't look like the typical fungal/bacterial issue, so I'm admittedly stumped,... I do see thrip damage (lighter patches on upper surfaces),... I grow OD's too, and those bastards are ubiquitous! It's a war, I'm afraid,.. any you kill now, will be replaced soon, as thrips are very mibile as well, (adults can fly).... so, Azamax and products with spinosad in it will help keep them in check,..

Hey Waira, have you ever used pred. mites on thrips? I,ve just started getting them last year and really never had a problem with them before. What's with those things? Peace... Oh also you can get black spots from flies. Peace again....

Hey Rick-- :pass:...no, I've not tried them, ...yes, they can help, but.... It's a catch 22 of sorts; first, you have to have the damn spider mites to begin with, to feed them, right? Same predator-prey relationship here as anywhere else in Nature... it's gamble, to see if they can keep up with the prey, or starve out from lack of,...or end up maintaining a constant low level infestation, which is the most likely scenario, and indoors, that's not at all wise! also, what you treat with to kill will probably take out the predatory mites as well,...So, I wouldn't rely on them alone to fix a spider mite problem, and if you're outside, the mites can come back from new invasion waves,... thrips are especially bad for this! They are everywhere, all the time, and what you kill one day, will be replaced soon by fresh opportunists,.. it's a war, in other words, that won't likely end until harvest,...

Hey Waira, thanks for the input!!
Think i may have figured it out. The promix comes in at .1 .1 .1 and higher feeds and a higher ph caused nitrogen toxicity. Im running lower feeds and phing it to about 6 and change. For those using promix treat it like coco coir but keep an eye on cal and mag.

Hey waira. Quick update!! It was totally nitrogen tox. I have been flushing with a weak ewc tea and the plant has recovered beatifully. The trick was to ph the tea to approx the medium and problem solved. Happy growing.
