I never ever said they were not good lights!! I still have (half) of mine working! ... mine is not an original, its a direct from china "copy" - even still same level of tech, different quality - and still rocking in one of my tents! Brilliant 60w clone/seedling light !

What I was trying to say is that money/watt ratio, today, not 2010... there are better options. No more than that. Astro dude, no bad vibes here I guarantee!

The original Lighthouse BS 240w (with 120w actual power draw) = 386.95 dollars. divided by 120w = $3.22/watt

GN Ms0006 (the absolute current gold standard in price/quality) is 270w (185w actual power draw) = 329.99GPB = $521.32 divided by 185w = $2.82/watt

So the GN actually cheaper per watt, cheaper to run (more watt efficient), modular, better optics, 3 year warranty, Epistar chips...

Even my brand new HGL Sol 9 with DMA LED chips is $1299/450w = $2.9/watt (this light is both rated as 450w and has 450 of actual power draw)

Please dont take it the wrong way, I am not bashing the BS at all. Its the grower that counts, not what fancy pancy lights you use. But tech does evolve and I for one have fallen victim of money not-so-well spent.

I am sincerely just trying to give the best advice out there for the newcomer to LED. If you are short on cash and have to start on a tight budget, dudes, please do go ahead, the BS240 IS A SOLID PRODUCT!!

I have the 270 chrome and love it. I don't use it much but it works when I pull it out.

I just got a 180w chrome added with sp-113d and a Chinese 75w x 4 cob leds? Odd looking lol but I'm excited to get my chrome

mm, make sure you run that chrome at about 30 inch's a bit higher than the other led's you have! she has twice the penetration. :

Hiya fellas! Another LED-lover joining the party 'ere! :smoke:

I did - imho - a decent research for the cheapest BS LED grow light and found a BlackStar 240w (80*3) LED w/full spectrum and a 3 year warranty from a chinese manufacturer/trading company. I've been corresponding via e-mails with this sales woman and she just offered me some knock-your-socks-off-killer-prices and this company has a very good sales rep! As I find this very hard to resist, I'm planning on purchasing two or maybe even three units of these 240W BS from this chinese manufacturer/trading company. Currently I'm running a LED-ufo grow light, 240W, 10 spectrum, but I need more juice!

I don't know if it's ok to post any prices or links from competing vendors so for now I didn't. If, however, I get a green light I'll show you what I've found.

'Til then... Pick it, pack it and fire it up!
