Lighting BlackStar The Manual

bill a little tough to understand your question? :shrug:one bs 240uv would not be sufficent to light a square meter, 1000w hid, mh, would be good for a square meter. but it is not targeted spectrum, like led's, so you lose most of the wattage to heat. two 240wuv blackstar's would do a square meter, for medium size plant's. maybe if you rephrase the question, we will have better advice.:D::smokebuds:

2 blackstars is 260 watt. So how much we can harvest from square meter?i think 250g and i dont think is a good result .So i think to put more light with same spectrum, but wanna AFN opinion on how much more blackstar lights i can put in square meter

the bs 240uv model draw's between 130 and 140 watt's , the difference is the targeted spectrum is 85% efficient, so gor one square meter two would be ok, three would be ideal! i have four blackstar's, in one tent, irun two 240wuv bs ,and in the other tent, onw 135w bs uv and a six spot blackstar chrome! i also supplement with two 300w equivlent cfl's, and that is just adequate, for three plant's, my yield per plant, is around four zip's per plant.
or around 300 gram's a grow. two bs and a couple of cheap cfl's should do the same for you, after you have dialed in whatever method you decide to use. my tent's are 40 inch's square, i am not good on conversion to meter's hope this help's:D::smokebuds:check out my result's in my thread in led lighting section.:peace:

BlackStar 240 watt UV Bloom Model –

Purchasing BlackStar LED's in the US - We recommend Gotham Hydro, they are friends of the site. If you use their website to purchase use the promo code GOTHAMFRIEND for 5% off for AFN'ers :smoke:

Just picked one of these up today marked down to 280. Used the 5 percent off code, too. Thanks for that! In my 5'x5' tent, I'll now have a mixture of a mixed spectrum sunshine systems 300w LED, an adjustable 300w Sunshine Systems LED, 6 Advanced LED spots for the undercarriage, and now a BlackStar 240w to push things into overdrive. This should really help me utilize the full space now. This summer, I'll isolate the lights for a bit of testing. Right now, I just need to produce as much as possible so I can make my own Rick Simpson Oil. Cheers!

sound's like you have enough to get the tent rockin!:smokebuds:good luck!:dance2:

I found a Blackstar in a pawn shop today. I believe it's a 180w UV. Of course there are no markings, just the light pattern on the front and the lack of external fan grill on the back (just the punchouts in the case) to help ID it. I had them plug it in and it fired up, definitely looks to be the flowering color scheme; lots of red and blue and no white. All worked except the center 2 LEDs which may be the UV?????? Either way, it's marked as DJ lights (ROFLMAO!!!!!!!) and priced at $95!!!!!

Gonna snatch it up if ya'll think it's ok with the 2 LEDs out or UV...
Also, how does this compare with say a 400w HPS? Since there are NO SPECS ANYWHERE! Gotta love chinese stuff...
