New Grower Blue Mystic First Grow

well the grow and bloom organicare imo would be ideal since from what ive seen is much more clearly usable as a single feed system as far as granules go imho. but you could use others, but again imho they're slightly inferior. but if you could swing everything in these pics(small black baggie are casting) i gaurantee you a flawless grow short of over water n heat n other things.but your medium will do ya fine and you'll have a baseline on your own waters PH..do you use city or RO,distilled or well water..just curious. and honestly if you had these?you wont need to buy an accurate 8 soil PH meter.like i said i aint got one.and if you could swing a bag of steer and cow manure, you'd be frigin in stellar shape.but what is included with the price of all these things is you'll grow back to back to back to back for prolly a year or even two short of buying castings(invest in a worm farm maybe?) without even buying anything except soil and EWC. its a long term investment and i can promise you you'll have such a great and stellar grow you'll wonder where this has been your entire life lol.i know I did. but lemme know what(if anything) you might be able to aquire.these are everything you'll nedd from teas to soil working and they are ALL interchangeable too.

too much?

well the Wettable powder and steer manure should be gotten. they are both forms of inoculates and again work in tandem with one another.i can keep going so lemme know whatcha thinking about.

Lots of good info. Thanks Eyes. I don't necessarily need to use dry ferts. I was simply trying to usie what I had on hand. I did not know Alaska a made a bloom blend. Could I used that in place of the organicare and the find an alternate source of ca? I can get the Alaska bloom locally.

well generally the papers from what ive heard aint that great BUT,they will give you a fair baseline if ya test it every several days for a week er two.kewl! uhh, well depending on your PH you could use it as a soup style feeding.but imo id brew a tea if you can get som EWC and/or bokashi or even a 5 dollar cow manure bag. a bag O chit!lol between them three you'll do nicely and the casting are the most expensive but a 4 LB bag is affordable for a tea.. and what type of water are you using? i didnt see it if you answered that, sorry. :)

but IF your on city water does it have chloramines?

and over time once you blend a soil or have pots going you can either plop the tea bag stuff after brewing into the soil and/or top coat lightly with the leftovers too.nothing goes to waste lol ans right now Id personally not use any guano's.i personally dont use much of them..BUT if you do a tea you could use a small sprinkle.i mean like uber small type O sprinkle.but honestly?,Id not use it atm.use it to blend into a soil or top coating down the road.LOL! women, get all kinds of free stuff..thats not fair lol..(kidding) i personally think its awesomely funny.

cow manure or castings.

liquid kelp

bloom fish and grow fishies too.

wettable powder(s)

molasses and epsom

and maybe some bokashi too.NICE tea awaits. thats what Id do right now IF your going to feed. have you taken a baseline of your water yet by chance.?..

the organicare if your your simple recipes for soil.and youll get fair results Id imagine if using the bloom fishes solely, but Id advise against it personally.mixing a simpole soil will take you far further than a soup style growing alone imo. and honestly you'll eventually need another heavier source of cal mag supplement too.sooner rather than later to be honest.

Haven't tested water yet, but I use 24hr old city tap. Don't know if it contains chloramine. Will try to find out. I have some ewc. I do not have a bubbler. I have a bucket and a stir stick. I give it a good whirl when I walk by to help airate. So can you give me a nice tea reciep? She will probably won't take more than a gallon of water. Remember Im new so the more exact the directions the less chance I'll flub it up. ;-)

well imo if your going to old school it go buy a 5 dollar bag of cow manure composted too.thats gonna really help that.but Id seriously recommend getting a 10 dollar pump n line and a bubble stone from wally world.i got my first one for like 13 bucks with a dual pump, line and a dual pack O bubble stones.

but if you bubble it(which i recommend personally) I would add kelp,EWC,cow manure(if you get some but NOT necessary if you bubble just really adds good foods n beasties since you dont have a wettable powder yet) alaskan 5-1-1 AND the bloom 0-10-10 too.

so if you bubble it Id do something like

2 Tablespoons cow crap

1/4 cup worm crap

2 teaspoons molasses or so.

epsom add just prior to feeding and melt and stir it in before feeding. 1 rounded teaspoon. or if ya gt a cal mag supplement add 5-7 drops per gallon.

1/8th teaspoon 5-1-1

2 teaspoons of the alaskan bloom

1/2 ounce of liquid kelp.15cc's

Kelp meal and/or azomite would be nice too. but no worries if ya aint got it.

or a scoop of a wettable powder.but other than that bubble that for 24 hours then water in.I hope that soil brand has enough balancing components but this tea should not be hot nor off balance enough to hurt. ig your plant is ready for a feeding this should help a fair bit imo.thats riiight about the recipe Id use if I was in that situation.well Id have another two or three components.but this'll work nicely.

take the dry materials the cow n worm crap (,wettable powders, and any meals or powders)ie: azomite and similar and use cheese cloth not a nylon, but if thats all you have go ahead and use the nylon stocking.tie it off and hang it in the water a lil above the bubbles if you can. mix the wet materials well and start a bubbling and then sink the bag O craps n a dark place and/or a lid and I think i got everything.if not lemme know.ill check back this evening.hands are on fire. lol HEEYY a new name lol.

did that all make sense? i hope so lol L8r

Hands on Fire. AKA: Eyes on Fire ;)

It's not so much about trying to go old school as it is I'm a curlygurl on a tight budget. LOL! Think of it this way, I've been buying food at the grocery store and now I'm starting a garden. I still have to spend money at the store until my garden is able to sustain my needs. Catch my drift? So while I have things like a bubbler on my want list I can't get it just yet. I will probably buy some 5-1-1 fishy ferts when little sis is ready to be fed. I probably won't buy a big ole bag a cow pucks until spring when it's time to plant my veggie garden. So what I got is what I got for now. I have been looking for that granular organicare, but can't find it locally. I can see why it would be a good choice. Perhaps, I'll add it to my list for later.

I feel like I haven't thanked everyone enough so here's a GIANT THANK YOU to everyone that's helped out so far.

Now for some tea talk. Curlygurl doesn't have any nylons or a bubbler so I brew my tea loose and use the grit to top dress. I don't have any cow crap, but I do have some frass. It's not water soluble, but it can be used to make tea. Per the directions it only needs to soak for 30 min. I could add some at the end. I'm not really sure what wetable powder is, but I don't think I have any. If I take your recipe and adjust for what I have it looks like this:

One gallon of water

1/4 cup worm crap (I also have a biochar/vermicompost blend. I could sub this. It can be used to make tea. The left over grit is highly inoculated granular sized pieces of biochar.) (BTW, this biochar/vermin blend was also given to curlygurl for free. Teehee!) I also used some of this biochar/vermicompost blend along with some frass to amend my soil before I planted the seed.

2 teaspoons molasses or less depending on how much gooey goodness is left is the bottle

epsom add just prior to feeding and melt and stir it in before feeding. 1 rounded teaspoon.

2 teaspoons of the alaskan bloom 0-10-10

1/2 ounce of liquid kelp.15cc's

I do remember reading somewhere that kelp and ewc teas are less effective than ewc teas by themselves at microbeorganics.com. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this. For now I'll just do above because I'm trusting you over myself and this website.

I'll brew everything in a big bucket and give everything a good stir as often as possible.

Wish me luck!
