DAY 65: Nine weeks down, ??? to go! Problems are starting to show up. I told you about the damage to D.K. last time around; she looks like she has not only stabilized, but is recovering. Now it's Carat's turn, because I are a dumbass. Yep, I let the soil PH drift too low again. She's got some bad discoloration in spots from nute lockout, but she too seems to be recovering now that I have the problem corrected. Hopefully it's late enough in the grow that these problems will only be a "gosh, the yield could have been bigger" problems; I can deal with that. A side question: does Toof Decay taste like it smells? I hope not, or it won't last. I'll be smoking it just for the taste and end up smoking it all day...

In case you're wondering why D.K.'s main cola leans like that, well, you see that huge branch that's just as tall as her? I kept putting the plant under the lights with that huge one away from the light, thinking I'd get one on the other side (didn't work), so now she leans towards the center of the lighting. I gave up this week, but I don't know if she'll straighten up in time for a nice "finish picture" or not. Doesn't really matter, does it?

Obligatory noob question: keeping mind that I want to do a full two weeks on straight water at the finish, do you guys think these are getting close to the switch over? Trichs aren't totally cloudy yet, but are getting close. Autos go so fast, I don't want to wait until they're perfect and then do two weeks. (Or maybe it's just that little noob voice screaming "no, I can't wait!" in my head!)

I would say if you want to do a full two weeks flushing then you might want to make the switch now or soon, as even from today that is going to take you to day 79 and i don't think i have seen either of these strains go past day 80.

You know, I might just do 'em all now and try this silly light gimmick I've been thinking about. I was thinking to convince them that "it's time", turn off the veg side of the LED after the first week, then turn off the HPS after another three days. Then finally, for the last couple of days turn off the flower side of the LED for complete darkness.

Although now that I see it in print, it sounds silly as hell...

Very nice grow ... once mine get to the point where I don't expect more swelling I'll cut down on the hours of light ... mainly to allow the plant's last week or two to be spent w/ sufficient light to help it mature but less light than normal for cooler temps and a tastier more fragrant bud ...

I pulled some of the little "fluff" buds off the undergrowth of D.K. tonight, microwaved them and gave them shot. Short term memory loss is one thing, but when you forget what you're doing while smoking, it's a bit much. I thought she'd be too racy for me, but no problems there. Not much taste yet, unfortunately. I think I'm going to like this one!
