Well, you knew this post was coming. It's only my second grow, so it was pretty much a given (with my impatience) that one of them would go down early. Carat was getting to the point, with past deficiency damage and all, that her sugar leaves were starting to go. Call it vanity, but I don't want yellow spots from bad leaves on my buds. Plus, the trichs were close enough (20% or so) that I didn't feel too bad giving in to temptation. I've only trimmed about three branches, but I had to take a break for reasons that will become clear, so here I am. A few observations:
1. Smartest addition to my "tool kit" for my second grow? Hands down the box of rubber gloves. Hands. Gloves. Heh.
2. I had to stop because both of my trimming scissors were totally covered. Naturally, I had to clean them and ah...safely incinerate the waste. Christ, Mitch; you ought to warn people! The initial effect was like a kick to the side of the head.

Very distinct taste which I wasn't able to identify, and strong enough that I figured I'd better put the scissors down for a bit.
3. My dirty little growing secret: I actually
enjoy trimming bud!
4. Actually a correction; it was, of course, D.K. that needed all the support, not Carat. But then she had a wider stance than an Idaho politician from the beginning.
I'll be back later with a wet weight. My apologies for the lack of right-before-harvest photos of Carat. When I decide it's time, it's time. Some day I'm sure this will all be routine, and I'll calm down enough to do a proper reporting job. This is not that day.
