ya muddy, a cheap set of side lites , i have two in round reflectors shihing into the lower branch sites it helps a lot! two bulbs two reflectors clamp on mounts one 125w, 6500k and one 125w,2700k all bought at true value for about $35 bucks fills out the light cheap!

Well I'm replacing about 460 watts of CFL with 480 watts of LED. Maybe I will leave the two outside CFL bulbs of the middle row thus leaving 90 watts of CFL extra. This way I would only be replacing 370 watts of the CFL. It sure isn't gonna be a watt saver but maybe I will get more light penetration and more lumens on my tank. Might be a good idea for sure. I am starting to get close to the limit on the single circuit capacity. I wonder how it will look to the naked eye.
remember that you are replacing with around half the drawn wattage so calculate this when you are setting things up. 240w does not equal 240 output more like 140-110 but the par output helps this out so it will work better than the cfl still.

Iv been scanning around the Internet looking at upgrading my set up and came across these full White spectrum LED panels http://www.myindoorgarden.com/how-it-works
Iv not seen much info on these apart from a guy @ RIU claiming hes used white and they outperform the red/blue combo..these are pricey panels so I'm guessing it's quite new but I'm not sure it's worth it....I can't find an email for this company to ask more questions, only a phone is available but I'm in the UK and it's a pricy call..guess it's time for more research :-)

The light looks like the cfl of leds.. It looks like a perfect combination for auto/led.. Hmm the 50 watt looks like a interesting choice to experiment with..

it looks like a pricey gimmick to me...... the drawn wattage is implied as the number of led's which is still wrong.

Lol that's true..i never noticed that.. it's so hard to find a true proven led with all these companies jumping on the band wagon .. its cheaper to just buy cfls than to buy that 50 watt I just seen ..

Agreed nearly every led grow panel iv seen gives out the wrong wattage on there sites,I'm currently emailing a guy from this company http://plantphotonics.com/our_lights.html they do custom built LEDs and claim to use quality componets, they also give the correct wattage draw on there panels

i agree with tshirt, a 50w panel is just about usless no matter what the spectrum is. you would be lucky to grow seedlings at close range.

Im a lil curious on these two.
The first listing claims that he can custom build the setup. The one he has listed is a 1 watt diode, curious if he could do a 2 or 3 watt diode setup.
The second is pretty vague on the details. I know these are the not the rolex's of the led's. But I'd to get your opinions. Unfortunately I don't have the funds for the top of line models, and im a virgen when it comes to this field of interest....

I would stay clear of those, you can get good cheap LED lights from gotham hydroponics, they have a 100w light that uses 2w LEDs for $140.
