Problem: Brown spots with yellow halo on about 3-4 upper leaves around main cola, at 2nd plant at the back of tent (not affecting closer plant)

Medium/grow method: Pro-Mix HP in 3 gallon fabric pots

Feed: and supplements used: Advanced Nutrients Sensi Bloom A+B.
  • Currently feeding/watering approximately every 3-4 days (feed with every watering)
  • Runoff about 10-15% and mostly removed with turkey baster. PH 6 (PH Strips)
  • Recently measured runoff EC around 2.7 EC (1350ppm).
  • Was feeding 2 ml per L.
  • Changed feed yesterday to Fed (1 ml of A+B per L, 4.5 L per plant) (1 EC/470ppm)
  • Runoff (1.1 EC/536 ppm)

Water source: Tap Water: PH 6-7 (Using PH Strips) (.2 EC)

Strain/age: Day 52

Light used: Mars Hydro TS 1000

Climate: 23-25c (45-50% Humidity)

Additional info: Noticed this this morning, probably happened approximately within 1 week. Tent gets lots of airflow (fresh air instake from main basement) and circulation.

Wondering if this is a deficiency due to high PPM or a possible disease.

Link to grow:

  • Noma 1500W Oil Filled Heater (Storage Room)
  • TaoTronics 6L Humidifier (with humidistat)

Tagging in on this post. I have had the same issues going on almost 2 years now though out multiple grow styles, product and ph ranges. I'm interested in what others have to say on the matter. I'm starting to lean towards leaf septoria as I've had a perpetual grow and I have never considered nor have any of the kind fellows here on AFN it could be a disease. I figured I would throw that out there if some of the other suggestions don't resolve the issue for you. Be careful going down that cal/mag rabbit hole. I dont think it's related to the spots but your run off is pretty high.

Another suggestion is ditch the ph paper test strips. Even an chepo amazon ph meter will get you far closer results with little investment. At some point I do recommend a good PH meter. I like my blue labs, but there are other quality ones out there.

It does look like leaf septoria now that I've looked it up. My tent isn't humid though, and the lower leaves look fine. I was hoping to get away with not having to purchase a PH pen, but looks like I will have to. I'm getting mixed info on what my water PH should be for Pro-Mix HP. Is it considered soiless/hydro or peat? I have a bottle of calmag, but haven't used any yet.

"PH for soil is 6.4 - 6.7
PH for Peat is 6.3 -6.4
PH for Coco is 5.8 to 6.2
PH for hydro is 5.8 to 6.2"

It's peat.

I've only seen positive things posted about Apera. I was kind of on the fence between that and blue labs. I believe you can replace the tips on the Apera and not on the bluelabs.

(edit) Just noticed your amazon link is .CA .. A fellow Canuck !

I'm hoping if I take care of it, it will last a while.
How's it going eh? :pass:

Damn, so my runoff should be 6.3-6.4?
Don't worry about the PH of the run-off. The plant will exude substances that change the PH around the roots biome. Just be mindful of the PH of the fertigation.

I am looking at this again and this might be an actual case of a Cal-Mag deficiency? What is your water source and starting PPM?
