Just read my first diary on here from @john0108. At the end of his diary, and after a great result, I that noticed he was using an LED, a Budmaster, and this has now spiked my interest.

So I done a little bit of research, and then you really do start to get confused. Are Budmasters THE BEST LED, or are there other brands worth considering? I understand they come in different grades, the XG, GOD, COB, & GOD. (in that order I think). @john0108 ran a 270w GOD. Is that a 600w equivalent?

Now I am just trying to understand the different in layman's terms in comparison to 600w, 1000w etc. In my setup, I run 2 x 1000w duel specs, on digital ballasts, in Dominator XXXL air cooled hoods, in a 1.2 x 2.4 x 2 (double tent). I am averaging 45 in that setup, with a PB of 49. I use 16 plants in 8 easy2grows.

Which Budmaster, or other LED, would replace my one of my 1000w HPS?

If I end up getting one for the next run due to start in a few weeks time, I will run it alongside my 1000w duel spec and do a side by side diary, as I am sure everyone will be interested in the ultimate 1000w head to head.

The best? Hardly... but to be fair it depends what you are looking for. There are many good brands out there. My experience with the LED-s are that if you are searching for replacement for 600w or 1000W HID then dont buy anything below 1000€/1000£ (and i mean wholesale prices, without VAT).

I am totally considering paying over £1000 so long as I can pay less electric, and achieve a better result. Not asking much I know.

Do you have any pointers for 1000w replacements?

Greetings @SAPFO and welcome to the AFN family. Straight up I have been where you are now. Starting out is like drinking from a fire hydrant.
I started with Chinese LED panels and now have moved into white light cobs. Several AFN'ers here have made the switch or getting ready to because
of the cost savings of running white light cobs and the yields they produce. Seeing you like horses. Send a message to @BigSm0 and see what this horse
or rather "white light cob guru" can tell you. There are DIY white light cobs or the big one can hook you up with the new AutoCob. I have three and I think I
will get another one next week. Currently I have three and I want to have one for each plant. I love light over kill. Big frosty buds I like. If you want to spend big bucks build your own and light up half your neighborhood. That would truly be over kill. Good luck.

I am going to take a look at the Autocob diary of @BigSm0 now.

So what is the deal with these COBS? I see they are 55w. How many would I need to smash a 2000w HPS grow?

The AutoCob is a 150watts hps replacement. It's completely flexible and expandable because they are single cobs themselves. I haven't looked into budmaster but have heard the name a few times so it's worth checking out.

The singles are a great option but you may want to consider the partial units and making a frame of budget is an issue.

I recently got the budmaster cob x 6 and can tell you it is unbelievably bright after being used to blurple led and the plants are loving the light. Mine has the osram cobs

Not to sure what the equivalent to hps it is but would have thought it to be around a 600w.

So I would need 8 to blow one of my 1000w duel specs away? Is the penetration good? If so, I assume that is because the light is more focused.

On the Budmaster. Their top 2 lights are the COB & GOD. Is the COB better than their GOD?
