Bug problem

Yes Mr magoo I saw that as an option im in England though don't think that is an option although not fully looked into it yet. I have cleaned and sprayed down the tent and all young plants with insecticide and cleaned the whole room out its in and sprayed bug killer around window etc. I see they are dying. Not any left as I cut all the lower fan leaves off which they were mostly on and I think I can get this under control, but that is is just the two week old plants. The flowering plants i have set up in another room in another tent to keep them away from my main set up as they are too bushy and big and i just cant see what's on them properly as the thrift are so small.. Now I just need to decide what im going to do with them

I have low humidity and plenty of air movement so I really don't understand how these things are here most articles online say they thrive in higher humidity and with low air movement

The first thought I had when I saw the photo is thrips. They are one of the easiest pests to get rid of. That said, they do an incredible about of damage. A good friend gave it to me once long ago on a cut of Sunshine Day Dream 3.

Get an organic pesticide and spray every leaf top and bottom. I would recommend not skimping and getting a very good sprayer. I use a sprayer intended for bathing horses that is called The Solo. This will allow you to bathe every leaf top and bottom.

BTW, The most likely way of getting thrips is from your shoes or feet. Thrips are everywhere in your lawn, that is as long as you don't use pesticide fertilizer, and you pick them up as you travel. Check your footwear and only use garden shoes in your canna garden.

Good Luck

Also you will know that you have thrips because of the marks they leave on the leaf. A thrip eats the top layer of the leaf off in circular patterns mostly. You'll see patches that look like areas were the top layer has been scraped away.

Hi everyone I have two forgotten cookies at day 15 but iv noticed spots on them and have turned over leaf to find little bugs in my loupe, iv not long bought my set up inside from garage so not sure if that has anything to do with it. Please help.
:toke: I know getting pics of them is difficult,.. have you looked up thrips to confirm this is what you see under the leaves? The damage looks like thrips to me,.. highly mobile, even as larvae (likely the "wormy" things you see)... no true worms are found in such a place, and caterpillar damage is tell-tale, and this isn't it.... Adult can fly, and often, the little turds aren't at the scene of the crime! Larvae can scurry and hide from you, literally! ....Typical of them to do top side damage like this,.. Larvae undergo a sort of pupation in the soil, but don't feed then,...
So, what to do this late in the game,.. I like a low residue product that's food safe and all that, something with spinosad in it, or pyrethrum,...foliar spraying, tops and bottoms of leaves, even soil surface.... Any neem/ derived product is out now too much residue and stank,.... some of the botanical oil products are OK, but you have to be careful with them about burning, and aroma strength,.. don't want the buds fouled! thrips are sap suckers, don't want anything to do with the buds per se, you may even find some dead, stuck to trichomes, which is in part their job,.... Question is where you live, what you can get- :amazon:
I'm going to move this thread too mate, into the Infirmary where it belongs,....

100% thrips not a doubt in my mind, tbh thinking now there is a few ways I could have let them in, im a bricklayer and sometimes come straight home and attend to garden and also have bin bags outside of tent that I throw old leaves in etc and leave there til it's full then discard, thinking probably one of these was what done it for me now. Needless to say it's changed my whole approach to how Im goin to treat my room in the future, thought I was safe as it always looks very clean in my tent.. until yesterday when the misses deep cleaned it can't believe how dirty all the walls were. I'm in England and iv been searching for products with spynosad or pyrethrum last night and couldn't find any that specifically said it had them in,be great of someone could point me in right direction.. I was looking at plant magic bugicide as it says it can be used up til harvest but struggled to find ingredients in it. Thanks for helping guys.

Is it a good idea to put sand on top of my soil aswell? And dunno if stupid question but is it ok to top feed as I do still through the sand if I do :rolleyes2: and when you say I might 'find some stuck on the trichomes dead, which is in part their job' what do you mean by that I'm Interested that's all haha

So you guys would defo continue to finish of the flowering plants as usual? I'm still a little disgusted tbh, What if I can't get rid of them all in the flowering tent before harvest and when I harvest them little bastards they are goin everywhere and finding their way to my main set up again. im constantly in two minds to dash the fuckin lot or not

:smoking: sorry mate, you got lost in the scrum here,...
Any food safe product will work, but the caveat is how much residue they leave,... the Plant Magic doesn't look to be a good choice for this, described as a "physical" action killer,.. gloopy fatty acid esthers, suffocants that clog their breathing holes,....
...have you checked through Amazon UK? Or some other horticultural supply website? I don't know the products over there well,... ask some of your fellow UK'ers here what they found,..
Thrips can fly, so getting in isn't a difficulty for them sometimes... there's a chance they were in the soil already as a sort of pupae, emerging as adults....
....sand will make a barrier to larvae looking to drop into the soil for that "pupae" stage, so that's part of the solution to killing the generation cycle,...wtaer/feeds will be fine, just harder to read the moisture levels... it's a pain!
Trich's are in part a defensive mechanism, the terp's and cannabinoids are toxic to most bugs, chemically, and the physical nature of the resins fouls mouth parts....
There are several how-to's on the web for washing the buds after harvest,... basically a series of dunks to help remove debris, residues.. I've used it a few times on outdoor buds, and it worked fine, no damage or quality loss when done right... As for post harvest, clear out the tent totally, toss the soil, double check the bag it came from, maybe ditch that too if you aren't positive it's safe,... they aren't as pervasive as mites....

Thanks for reply waira, so where am I at haha, basically the spare tent I put with flowering plants I didn't treat, didn't want to try kill of thrips in two tents in different room, so I killed off two flowering plants that had too long left and cut my losses and I harvested the other two a week or to early only had a couple Amber's showing. So they are drying now in the spare tent away from anything. As for my main tent with all my new plants in veg I have sprayed them a few times with a couple different insecticides, I managed to find a couple of products with pyrethrum so used that and the one with cypermethrin in too. Iv also kept cleaning and hoovering and wiping down tent when I water plants and I now shower before I enter the grow room haha. I bought 20 blue double sided sticky traps and have layed them out all across of the top of the pots so only got the stem coming up out of them lol..it works really well I can just slide them off to water and I'm goin to carry it on forward in the future. If anything drops of them plants or trys to come out of the soil it's fucked..anyway iv not seen a thrip or any no damage in days. And all my sticky traps are clean. I'm winning :backside::crying:thanks for help everyone.
