Grow Mediums Calling all CMH + COCO growers!!!

They look fantastic dude, sorry I will clarify what I meant about light to canopy distances...as I first understood it.....giving more light to the plant was good.....so by looking at diagrams and graphs I concluded that is was better to have my CMH at 18" from canopy....to give the maximum light/par/photons/whatever ....I even bought a fan that was hung off the pole in my tent, so I could focus it between my light and canopy to blow the heat away, so the plants would not burn....duh!!Haha.....after more reading and research I found that plants can only handle so much light.....and after this amount is reached!!....the plant goes into something like "photostatic radiation inhibition"......don't quote me on that lol....what it means basically is the plant is receiving too much light, and is now using part of its growing energy to defend against the extra light....so to summarise ........I'm trying about 20"-24" above canopy...I know there is a Sweet spot dude....and I'm going to find it!!

Thanks for that man that really helped and focused my thinking too, all makes sense. I had a bit of leaf canoe and sure that was down to light intensity as all other environmentals were text book dialed in. Shout me when you find that spot and il do the same if I do!

Me too dude....until I saw a few pics of an industrial grow....and wondered why they have their lights so high?......these guys are growing for maximum profit right?.....do you think that they go round adjusting every individual light to 18"?.....and move it to suit every plant?.....no..they have their lights high and let the plant grow up to it....so divide this into a single unit and it must equate dude.....let me know if im wrong.......I'm always surfing the learning curve dude:pass:

I was at 18 when canoe happened, moved up to 25-26 and it stopped on new growth. Leaf temp was about 73 with my laser reader, humidity 55, PH at 6, no sign of nute burn. So I think Vapo69 is on the right track these lamps are pretty intense from what i understand - but its only my first grow with it and I'm very happy so far. Beats the hell out of the old 360 W LED bank - using that as a supplemental now. I've got a Shortstuff GG diary in new growers should be ready in a couple of weeks for harvest - get to try out my spin pro gadget then as well - gotta love Santa!

My diary is here if you wanna check it out
