Photoperiod Cannaficionado Grow Thread. (Organic)

Friend of mine gave me some plant stands yesterday at work. They dont know what they are for but they said they wanted to give em away so I took em. Rod iron simple little things but it was the perfect height to raise up the Forbidden Jelly to roughly the same height at the Slurricane #7.

Plants are doing great too. Im hoping by the way things are stacking up that both yield pretty heavy.

Week 10 (Week 4 Flower) New
Making my weekly update a day early. We'll 2-3 days earlier than my last few:rofl:

Things are looking great. Couldn't ask for better looking plants right now.

Slurricane #7 S1 is doing phenomenally. Bud clusters filling up every bud site. Leaves looking healthy and praying. Was worried that the top dressing would throw everything off but for now it seems to have helped. Watered today with a half gallon, added some kangaroots again, had a bit of runoff with my last watering so I wanted to make sure I put more bacteria and myco back in the soil that got washed out. Surpringly enough about 4 days ago both plants started pumping out trichs already. Hopefully this is foreshadowing some super frosty buds.

Forbidden Jelly is also doing much better now that its closer to the light. I gotta water this one almost twice as often as the other girl. She transpires like crazy. While both pots still had some weight to them the Forbidden Jelly was probably at least 4-5lbs lighter. With that said I've been giving her .5 gallons every 2 days amd only adding stuff if I add it to the other plant which is usually only microbes. She has been very perky since putting her on her stand and even more so that the exhaust is set on temp amd humidity thresholds. I think this is giving them more of an opportunity to cycle co2 than with it running constantly at 50% power.

Seems like pics are uploading like normal now, no more having to doctor pics to get them to upload, but thats all for today. Thanks for swinging by!

Thought I would make a small update.

I know I posted my weekly post yesterday but I forgot to add a few things. Went in today to pluck a few wilted/dying OLD ass leaves, and I know I touched on it a little bit but these girls are suckn up water like CRAZY. Just had to water again today, both plants. I didn't do a full watering, half gallon to each, because they were light when hefting. This time it was the slurrican that was lighter. As I've mentioned in previous grows I gather my water from a freshwater spring about 15 minutes from my house. Its not a far trip by any means but I just purchased 3-7gallon water storage containers with a built in tap. Pretty heavy duty, but I got them September 19. These 2 girls have drank 21 gallons of water in just under 20 days. That's insane to me, and they keep wanting more. My original plan was to empty 2 and fill them while I was working on the 3rd well they drank my last container over the week. Now I gotta fill all 3 again. Maybe I should get a 4th idk but if they keep drinking like this I may have to. I try to only make the trip once every 2 weeks because the people that use it aren't so polite and even though the flow is almost 7 gallons a minute people dont like waiting and have gotten very rude. Maybe I should just start harvesting rainwater, seen vivosun sells a 100 gallon collapsible collection barrel for like 60 bucks. And its getting to that time of year again where it rains a lot. Girls are still looking stellar though.

Took that pic right before the lights started going out. Its also starting to develop a sweet jelly candy odor, which is the Forbidden Jelly for sure. Not much coming from the Slurricane. Maybe its the one giving off subtle gassy notes every once and a while.

Took some pics today and Im noticing some older leaves with purple edges on the Slurricane #7. Not concerned just making a note. That usually means phosphorus deficiency. So today when I finished watering from yesterday after I ran out I added just a couple more tablespoons of the Flower Garden as a top dress. I actually did that last night then watered it in this morning after refilling my water containers. Didn't take any pics of the leaves as Im not that worried about it it.

Heres the pics I took.

You can kind of see the purple edges on the leaf in the foreground of this pic. That's about the gist of what I was talking about. Thin purple outline on like 30% of the oldest fan leaves.

So I took a pic of the purple outline on my leaves on the slurricane. Seems to be going back to normal after the top dress. But a lot of my older leaves are developing blotches that wilt and die, you can sort of see it on one of the leaves in the background on the pic below. Normally is large splotches on the tips of margins of the leaf that contort up a bit then turn brown and dry while the rest of the leaf is seeming unaffected. Not sure what thats about. Ive just been plucking them when they are ready after a week they usually fall off with very little effort. But every day it seems like a few more, then more and more. Also one thing Ive notice is that the slurricane has stopped budding its not pushing out any more bracts and hasn't since early last week. Hopefully they swell up really good and stay dense during the last 6 weeks.

The purpling has receded from completely outlining the leaves affected to just the tips. So its getting better

Regarding:
"....Been thinking of ordering some elemental sulfur amd adding a ⅛ to 1/16th of a teaspoon when I feed for flower which is coming up in about 10-14 days. Im not sure if I should do that. But I definitely think I should foliar spray some magnesium...."

Keep in mind magnesium sulfate/MgSO4 (epsom salt), probably what you use for foliar magnesium supplementation, also provides a good amount of sulfur. Does (I'd want to first check whether) adding elemental sulfur to soil/media lower its pH, from formation of sulfuric acid?

I was only thinking of doing it because I think the spring water I collect from a local spring is LOADED with calcium. I think its slowly raising the ph of my media throughout veg and locking stuff out mid flower, its happening again right now. Pics to come tomorrow

Adding more salt (sulfates) to water already with a salt excess is not a good option. With your spring water high Ca you're already at high ppm from Ca salts. Even if you do lower the water pH by adding sulfur (or an acid), that's just adding more salts/ppm. Rather, you need to remove Ca or highly dilute the high Ca water. Maybe switch to rainwater or get a small RO system.

I guess I didn't think about that. Ive been thinking about getting a countertop ro system but Ive been hesitant to buy. I was definitely thinking about collecting rainwater but I think my landlord might have a problem with that.
