Photoperiod Cannaficionado Grow Thread. (Organic)

Week 9 (Flower Week 3)
Another week down!

Stretch appears to be over on both girls and all tops have have turned into colas now. Multiple pistils shooting out, no more new vegetation, we are now in full flower swing.

Top dressed with another 5tbsp of the Flower Garden mix and watered it in with some fox farm kangaroots. Each plant received about 3/4 of a gallon with the Kangaroots @ 1tsp per gallon. Its not organic but it has a decent culture of myco and trichoderma and less available fertilizer than microbe brew, everything being less than 1% in the npk ratios.

The Slurricane #7 S1 is doing great. A little droopy before feeding and watering the dry ferts in but better now. Also defoliated and spread the branches open a bit wider so all the lowered are getting light relatively easy. Pictures will be added today, as I took all of them in portrait mode and they wanna rotate as I add them

Forbidden Jelly is doing ok too. She was super droopy again before feeding and watering, but perked up again. Defoliated her to and spread her open just a bit. She's much shorter now that the stretch has finish so I took one of my saucers for my 10 gallon pots and flipped it over. They stand about 4 inches tall so it helped out a bit getting it closer to the light. Again same here, pics will be added later.

Alright photos added right after the lights popped on this morning.

Week 10 (Week 4 Flower) New
Making my weekly update a day early. We'll 2-3 days earlier than my last few:rofl:

Things are looking great. Couldn't ask for better looking plants right now.

Slurricane #7 S1 is doing phenomenally. Bud clusters filling up every bud site. Leaves looking healthy and praying. Was worried that the top dressing would throw everything off but for now it seems to have helped. Watered today with a half gallon, added some kangaroots again, had a bit of runoff with my last watering so I wanted to make sure I put more bacteria and myco back in the soil that got washed out. Surpringly enough about 4 days ago both plants started pumping out trichs already. Hopefully this is foreshadowing some super frosty buds.

Forbidden Jelly is also doing much better now that its closer to the light. I gotta water this one almost twice as often as the other girl. She transpires like crazy. While both pots still had some weight to them the Forbidden Jelly was probably at least 4-5lbs lighter. With that said I've been giving her .5 gallons every 2 days amd only adding stuff if I add it to the other plant which is usually only microbes. She has been very perky since putting her on her stand and even more so that the exhaust is set on temp amd humidity thresholds. I think this is giving them more of an opportunity to cycle co2 than with it running constantly at 50% power.

Seems like pics are uploading like normal now, no more having to doctor pics to get them to upload, but thats all for today. Thanks for swinging by!

So I took the pictures this afternoon

The Forbidden Jelly is now the good-looking plant in the tent.

The slurricane on the other hand is the plant giving me problems now. Looks like calcium or magnesium deficiency or lock out on top as well as phosphorus issues on the bottom so Im wondering if its become a ph issue. Idk how since I dont do anything different and I dont think Im feeding that heavy. But I did stop ph'ing my water. Its working fine for one plant but not the other. Im thinking about watering then separately from not on an dropping the ph of the water for the Slurricane down to 6.1-6.4 till harvest time, whatever is going on with her has stunted flowering too. Because it started budding up and then just stopped where the Forbidden Jelly is still pumping more and more out and swelling at the same time, well mainly just slowly swelling now. Nothing is swelling on the Slurricane, you will be able to tell that from the last few posts it hasnt changed much at all.

Got a pic of the whole plant, some close ups of a couple colas and the progressing leaf situation

Week 12 (Flower Week 6) New
Its getting closer amd closer to the reccomended breeder time. Got about 3 week left, both strains are 60-75 days. Last time I grew Forbidden Jelly it was about spot on and I think it will be with the Slurricane too.

So the Slurricane #7 smells great. Subtle grape notes with a bit of gas on the back end. I did do some digging and a lot of sources say its a slow flowering plant, but those same sources say its a short indica dominant hybrid. Usually staying compact with some the get a little stretchy. This plant grew 2ft in 14 days. Its also structured like a sativa in my opinion, long internode distance and small super dense buds. They do retain a lot of density pretty far down though which is a saving grace. The leaves dying off hasnt seemed to have stopped either just slowed down. Now it seems to be slowly coming back. Took the girls out of the tent to get a good look at them and she had a lot of completely shriveled leaves and ones that fell off with just a touch, but they were way at the bottom and I think its leaves that the plant cannibalized to keep everything up top ok.

Heres some pics of the plant and colas with a trimming shears for a size reference

Let's move on to the Forbidden Jelly now. She is beginning to show signs of a ph or nutrient imbalance too, brown margins, I mean just completely fried just along the edged, basically the serrations. If Im not mistaken thats potassium toxicity. Im not gonna worry about it though, she's got some nice buds growing. The colas are stacking up very nicely. Large dense buds and if they keep swelling the way they are 3 of the colas in the pics could be solid bud almost all the way down to the main canopy which would be nice. Forgot to mention it up above but both plants have been slowly purpling up. I dont think much is gonna come through but parts of the Forbidden Jelly are getting darker. Smells from this plant are just as good you really get that soft gummy candy smell with some citrus/ lemon and grape notes. Though I gotta say not very strong. Im not even running my exhaust 24/7 and it dont smell when I come in the house or even when I walk up to the tent, but I might be nose blind because its strong on a pair of gloves.

Same scenario as slurricane. Size references and so on

Thats all I got for today. Also if anyone feels like answering. If Im suppose to top dress my plants once a month would it be worth it to at the end of the week, that will be about 4 weeks since my last top dress? If they really only got a couple weeks left I dont know if its worth it, though I suppose I could sprinkle tablespoons instead of the normal 7-10

Well its official the Slurricane #7 S1 nearly collapsed today after her second round of watering. I let the pots almost dry back too far. Pots had some weight still but the tops were hydrophobic. Watered a gallon in this morning till it started running out let that fully sink in and work its way through the pot then came in 3 or 4 hours later amd they easily took the rest of that gallon and maybe ⅔ more. Didn't run out but I didn't wanna shock with too much water at once. The leaves are still slowly shriveling up but goddamn is this plant packing on weight. Buds are slowly getting bigger, but 0 give at all. Just DENSE.

Had to put a net up today and ordered some bamboo stakes because as you will see they need to be propped up completely any branch not tied to a stake from the stalk to the tips of the colas will flop over. It does have very thin stems, the stretch really elongated her out but she's filling in that space beautifully. While manhandling this droopy beauty into a net I got very strong whiff of RIPE berry almost over ripe, that super sweet juicy smell. Then you get hit with gas at the very end. Let's just say I hope I cure this girls really well because she will be a treat.

Forbidden Jelly time. This girl dont need a damn net and her colas are super fat. I mean just as wide as a the pair of fiskers trimming shears handle and damn near as dense as the slurricane as well. The definitely have some give to em but not much. The smells that came off her were very subtle today. But same as before jelly candy, berry notes with a little sour kick. She's gonna be a pain in the ass to trim up but it'll be worth it. Its kind of a trade off with the slurricane, it has very little sugar leaf to bud ratio so she shouldnt take too long to trim up but Im gonna lose that time for sure trimming this one.

Changed some things environmentally. Switched the exhaust back to always on at 50% power and I kicked up the speed of my clip on to 70%. After watering the humidity likes to climb up into the 60% range but this is keeping it around 55-57%

One more note. Any pistils that have turned brown have been from being touched. None have turned orange and started to receded on their own but it looks like on the forbidden jelly they will soon.
