Grow Room Carbon filter recommendation

Hi all im looking on ebay for a carbon filter,the grow room is W:6' L:12' H:9'.i have never really worried about one over years of growing as we didn't have many visitors or a child in the house,but the wife is very anal about the smell in the past,,i had a exhaust fan running but the noise was driving her crazy,,the carbon filter set ups thay have on ebay say silent when running...do thay run silent or just low noise?
Any recommendations for a silent or very low noise carbon filter?

Hey bud, the filters themselves don't make any noise, but they need a fan pulling air through them, and the fans do make some noise.

If you use a fan speed controller and keep the fan running on low, it can be pretty quiet. I've found carbon filters work pretty good when the fan is on low.

Phresh filters are expensive but they do work well.

Yeh i mean the fan,,sorry should of been more specific..um yeh ok all good i do imagine the fan would have some noise as basically its just an exhaust fan,like the one i have but it's not compatible with a carbon filter,and when reading on the specs of the carbon filter/fan kit,it states silent,just got me thinking as i have been looking for a silent type set up to keep the wife happy,but all the videos i have seen of the carbon filter set ups do have noise.....cheers

Silent don't believe it. I ran a HyperFan 6" with a silencer and charcoal filter and got the decibels down to 28 at 7 feet away. I could not hear it in the next room.The fan motor was in the tent and the silencer and filter were outside of the tent. I don't remember what it was without the silencer but my wife complained about hearing it at night.

Yeh im thinking its too good too be true when someone states their product is silent....ok cool yeh im down in the basement but our bedroom is directly above the grow room only floor boards that block some off the noise but i will look into a silencer,...how big would i need for the grow space thats mentioned in the above post...4"-6"....its basically a walk in open planned grow room..not completely a grow tent but i blocked of a part of the basement with a tarp using the rafters etc as the frame works well as there is space in between each rafter letting the hit air escape with a natural air flow..I will take pics if needed,but just unsure what size to use,,the main priority is the smell, second is the noise.?

She will probably hear a low vibration from the fan, but being in the basement, it shouldn't be too bad, especially if you procure a silencer of some type. I have my fan/filter outside my tent and I can hear the fan in a couple of different places in the house, but it isn't troublesome. My filter sits on two sheets of Sorbothane. Memory foam would work too. You can try wrapping the fan as well.

I am a Phresh filter user too. For many years.
