Hello friends,
This is my first grow, first harvest, and I'm learning as I go. I am outdoor growing 4 Amnesia Haze auto/fem plants and one of them appears to be home to a new caterpillar family, they are small and fuzzy and I took about 10 off the plant. No signs of any more on this or my other 3 plants, but I figure if they have hatched from eggs it might be a matter of time until more develop. I was thinking of going another week (or two) into grow season, but now I think this plant should be chopped and water cured to prevent any more pest growth. I think water curing because I either vape or make tinctures anyways, so a good dry-cured flavourful smoke isn't a necessity right now. It looks to be just about all cloudy trichomes with the occasional amber.

What do you think, yes/no, any tips?

I like to cut sativa dominant plants when they are cloudy so it sounds like you're ready by my standards.

Some caterpillars will bore into your buds and you can have some mold where they've been so you have to be real careful when you trim and dry. If you see any signs of caterpillars bore holes in the buds then you should break up your bigger buds to make sure they dry quick enough to prevent mold where they've been.

I am having a hard time this year with the dreaded hemp borer.Spinosad, pyrethrum, and neem
oil do not seem to be helping.they are the absolute worst fuckin pest there is.They can destroy a healthy plant in a matter of days.I am going through this same dilemma myself. All of the borers and we have had straight rain and high humidity which is making it very hard to hold off the mold.So I would say harvest what you can if you think they are in danger.Even a shitty harvest beats no harvest at all.

I did end up harvesting it, not a lot to compare to as I'm a novice grower and user but it gets the job done. I managed to keep the other 3 plants healthy and they will be harvested any day now that the fan leaves are almost all dead and the sugar leaves are just starting to yellow.
