Lighting cfl 5000K anyone use/used?

Hey guys. Any use 5k lights? Ive got like 7 or 8 ofem and at 23w, and since im cheap I would like to use them lol. Going to have 15 sockets, can I use these and fill in the rest with the right temp bulbs? And if I can, what bulbs should I use to fill in, gearing more towards flowering. Got this http://www.bulbrite.com/products_en_18_149_469_0_2-810002.php for my materials. Trying to think of a way to get them sideways and something for a reflector without haveing to cut it up. Prob gonna have to cut it up though. Thanks!

I have used 5000k T5s for a complete grow with photos and they worked. the yeild was a little lower than using a 6000k/3000k mix.but not much.if you have them already then use them. with cfls you need to keep them close to the plant and yse as many as you can without overheating you grow room.hope this helps.good luck with your grow.for a reflector you could try making a cardboard cone lined with mylar or aluminum foil attached to the wire leading down to the socket just don't get it too close to the bulb due to heat from the bulb

Thanks man! Im gonna fill all 15 sockets. Shoot I may fill with all 5k then. I can get those for couple bucks apiece.

i've been thinking about your reflector and mounting issue, you could try drilling a socket size hole in some 1*3 inch (2,5*8 cm) wood. then mounting the sockets with silicon adhesive. these boards could then be mounted to a would panel with are reflective coating like high gloss white paint or mylar film.lining your grow room with mylar would also help the plants get more light.

Yea, counted my eggs before they hatched. Lost the bid on ebay, that 20 bucks for shipping sucked. Thought it was gonna walk for 45 bucks lol. Now I gotta build something. Gonna try to stay at or under 60 bucks. Lookin now for sockets, lowes here in town has them for 8 bucks, gotta be able to findem cheaper than that lol.

have you looked at these from home depot http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-Porcelain-Keyless-Lamp-Holder-R50-09875-000/100356842 I have used them before and they work good. I build my own lights and add cfl reptile lights near the end of flowering to get U.V. into the mix.improves resin production I built this light for under $60 so it is possible to get a good cheap light. the bulbs cost under $4.00 each and the ballast cost $23. it puts out 14400 lumens. the reflective material is form a survival blanket I got on e bay for around a buck. good luck with your DIY light

Man ive smoke alotta weed today. Spent some money 2 lol. Off of ebay I got 10 e26 sockets rated for 60w and 10 splitters fir a total of 20 sockets. Got 18 2700k 23w bulbs for a total of 460w and lumens are at 32000. I got some pvc pipe ill prob put sockets in and i think I got some 12/2 wire in garage, if not I know I got an old 12/3 cord ill cut up. All buy now stuff too, no auction. Came to 59.26 lol. Blew my wad and I gets no more play money for 2 weeks so no reflector lol. May just paint a big piece of cardboard white for now and get some flashing or something I dunno. But im high

all my cfls are 2700k and 5000k. ive never owned a 6500k. so I would say the 5000 work fine
