Grow Mediums CFL light advice for seedlings

I wanted to see if anybody has expirenced with CFLs for seedlings and or veg stage. I'm trying to finish up 4 autos but I want to get another 4 going in a separate tent. My main light is being utilized for the ones I'm trying to finish. Do you think I could use CFLs to start my new 4 and how long could I use CFLs in their veg phase?

I've used CFLs for supplemental lighting with mh/hps.
You can get 100w true watt bulbs at the hydro store I go to. You'd want the cool blue ones. Some people use only CFL throughout the entire grow, you should get them as close as possible without burning them. Also when you switch it may shock them because they won't be used to the intensity of your LEDs maybe you should just grab a smaller LED off amazon you can get them pretty cheap

My seedlings do better with 2x 42 watt cfl lights on a y splitter, than my old Mars Hydro light. I've used it on into veg too. But don't take my word till you hear from the real grow bros you tagged in!

I use my AeroGarden for germination and seedlings most the time, keep them there until like week 2 or 3...

It doesn't matter about what type of lights really just watts/lumens/PAR/Moles and spectrum, UV etc to save time take a look at these pics:

This about the watts needed per square ft etc.. in mh/hps make sure to take note of the LED section below..

CFL would be ideal.

Remember 60 real watts not replacement watts.

This is great info thanks! I'm thinking about getting the next group going with CFLs while the current one finish up. What book did this research come from?

hey buddy ive got a 130w 14000k big bulb cfl (£35) that i use for my seedlings. only had 4 under it for their first 14 days so far but the growth compared to what i get under my leds is incompareable. it takes 14 days to get my seedlings ready for NFT while theyre in rockwool so i just use it for that. from my experience id say 2 weeks is about spot on. gets them just big enough to handle the full whack of 540w blurples.
