Lighting Cheap COBS

Please see the link below and advise, I know people generally opt against the cheap Chinese lights however the spec states they use 5w epistars which o thought were pretty good quality.

Let me know your thoughts, I would only be using these for 3 months of the year.

I'd steer clear of this panel.
Two red flags in the advert... 1) it actually only draws 250 watts from the wall outlet, so it is being severely underpowered, which means cheap drivers. And, they actually say to turn the light O every 5-6 hours, for 20 minutes to cool?!?
That is not going to be a worthwhile purchase, both for your plants and your wallet.

Many thanks for you input. makes complete sense and good job you pointed out the light needing to be switched off as I was intending to run 24/7.

and I suppose that could have ended in disaster !!

You are right at one way to find out is to try. however I think even 24hrs is a poor test as I would be running them continuously for a full run.

Surely there are manufacturers that test their components more vigorously ?

I know BUT this is for each unit. Companies usually test BEFORE assembly AND once assembled. But.....yeah i see the issue. Good luck and let us know what you opt for. Also does anyone else have an led system they CAN recommend. It's a minefield out there [emoji100]
